If there is a buzzing sound coming from the speakers, when you listen closely the speakers probably went out, you should try connecting external speakers to the tv, if they work you know its the speakers if not, then it may be the TV screen itself, hope this helps.

first thing,,,,make sure the speaker wires are not touching each other.
i dont think it would be a fuse because that would cut the sound completely.you could open the unit to check for a fuse or fuses.
if none of the above help, then take the unit to a tech.i suspect a blown channel which means a capacitor needs to be replaced.one more thing...swap speakers over to make sure your speaker isnt blown

Sound went limp i think it the crossover

Define limp. No highs or no volume?

Logically, what one thing would affect both speakers? Logically, how would a crossover failure mute anything but the tweeter?

So, what happened just BEFORE this problem appeared?

I'd look at the electronics.

Better sound through bose speakers?

If you have the money to plunk down for a Bose Acoustimass home theater speaker system, I'm sure you will be quite pleased. Of course, as you indicated, appropriate placement of the speakers is important. Still, I'm sure you will find that a properly placed Bose Acoustimass speaker system will fill your room with high quality sound, substantially better than Onkyo's stock speakers placed equally well.

I own a Technics home theater system, which I initially purchased to use in my family room. Yet, when I listened to a Bose Lifestyle system (powered by Bose Acoustimass speakers), I could have nothing less. The Bose system went in the family room, where everyone could enjoy it. I put the Technics system in the bedroom, where it is rarely used.

The sound just went off completely did the speaker

I doubt that your speakers blew, I would think that it was the audio driver.
Check to see if you have an audio out and hook up a external amp for sound.
This may be the best way for you to get sound out of your television for now. The repair may be too costly

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Hi, They suddenly stopped working, think I

Try another speaker set.
If this does not fix it, then consider the sound card if it is removeable, get a new one. If it is internal, turn off the sound and install a sound card.

I have a 2000 eclipse....i just put in one of those touch screen cd players with a 7 in screen....now it kinda sounds like **** because i think the dashboard speaker went...can i just buy door and back...

yes. You don't need the dash speakers, you can just put door and rear speakers in. Also for the front you can get component speakers and put the tweeters in the dash. Trust me, it will sound great! Make sure whoever is doing this knows what their doing because another thing that can cause your system to sound bad is phase and polarity problems.

It would sound stupid, but just in case, have you checked your volume level, is it set to lowest .
Connect one speaker at a time and check ?
