Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a Whirlpool Model Number LSN2000JQ2 that will wash but when it comes time to drain the water it will not always do this. It sounds like the control and relays are working but the issue seems to be that it sticks or stops at the drain cycle. I was able to get it to work last night by cycling the control knob around and to on and off several times. Could this be the control unit or is this a pump issue?

More likely the pump is blocked...................clear pump and see if the impeller moves freely.........

SOURCE: Washing machine not draining and finishing cycle

I had the same problem.... It would stop on the rinse cycle and beep.  Check to make sure you can hear the water pump running or if you can just hear an electrical hum and then it quits, it may be a problem with the water pump. The water pump can be accessed by removing the tub, reach down the center of the agitator and remove plastic bolt, remove the stailess steel tub and then remove the plastic oval shaped cover at the bottom of the main tub to access the pump impellor.  Make sure the impellor turns freely, if it does not you may have a problem with the pump motor.  We had a gold chain go missing and it showed up wrapped around the pump shaft causing it to bind at times.  It took me two tries to fix it but now it runs 100%.

SOURCE: GE washing machine water overflowing

sound like the same washing machine from hell that we have. three or four times it has overflowed from want we have been told the hose that runs from the drum to on/off pressure switch cloggeds with soap. we have tried different soap, hot water, cold, water you name it we've tried it. so now evey time we use it we have to clean it with a coat hanger by taking the front off the machine.

P.S. take the hose off top and bottom to clean it, all it takes two/three very small soap bubbles to clogged it

SOURCE: Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

you have a plugged or partial plugged drain pump for sure. maybe there is a 20 stuck in it this time! easy to find just follow the drain hose back and you will find your pump.
also could be the cycle your using has a bad area in timing cct. check a different cycle like the delicate cycle and that will confirm pump or cycle

I have an whirlpool ultimate care II Imperial Series Model # LSN2000JQ2 Serial:CM2819491 Type: III That will fill but won't agitate. Is this something I can really fix on my own?

Could be a problem with the lid switch or motor coupling. Does it drain? Does it spin?
when its time to agitate or spin, do you hear the motor?
Lets start with the lid switch. open the lid and use a screw driver to push the switch down. pay attention to see if you hear it click. Try to run the unit with the screw driver holding down the switch.
Let me know what happens so I can further assist you.

It sounds like the timing is off. the washer is filled up with water, but does not wash. when you try to set the dial on the right hand side of washer to wash, all you hear is a buzzing sound like it is...

This kind of sounds like you may have a broken drive belt on your washer. Unfortunately, it is located on the underside of the washer, so you may want to drain the water out first. If your laundry room is located in the basement near a drain, the easiest way to drain the wash tub is to remove the drain hose from the pipe that it fits in and lay it down on the floor, by the floor drain.

Once this is accomplished, you'll need to tip your washer up and inspect the underside. You'll see the motor pully, the transmission pully, and a belt connecting them. If this belt is broken, you've found the problem. To replace it, simply write down the entire model and serial number of the washer down and take it to your local appliance parts dealer. You may also be able to obtain the part number from the belt itself. This all depends on how badly damaged it may be.

I hope this helps to get you going again! As always, please feel free to ask me any further questions regarding this matter. :)

Whirpool Duet - Soap not getting into wash cycle

O.K. Is the water draining out properly? If the filter is blocked then your washing will be churning in dirty water as the machine will drain for a maximum time then rinse etc. in the used water.
