Hello,

You may try this; Turn OFF the laptop, remove the power sources (ac adapter and battery). Without power sources, hold power button 10 secs. Put back the power sources, and power ON the laptop. If the laptop will not boot by doing this, take it to the nearest repair center to have it check for possible motherboard issue.

Also, you may try to boot in safe mode. Tap continuously the F8 when you turn ON the laptop until you reach the advance boot option. Select safe mode and let it load. Once loaded in safe mode, do the system restore. To do system restore, follow this:

  • Open System Restore by clicking the Start button Hi

I am trying fix my - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.? If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If it does go to safe mode or if same problem will persist after the system restore. You need to do system recovery or reformat the system. Some laptops provides Recovery disc, some has it on the HDD. You may contact ASUS tech support to know the recovery option for your model.

Good luck.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HAB Netbook - Cursor Screen, How to Fix?

It is looking for something to boot from. Remove any CD and USB drives. Then try physically reconnecting the drive. From there you will need to verify in BIOS.

Check first boot in BIOS as well.

Asus eee pc turns on, screen goes blank

If you see the system screen and the cursor, the monitor is fine. You likely either have had your operating system corrupted (I dont know if your EEE PC has Windows 7 or a Linux distribution) or it's possible your hard drive died....but i would try the OS first.

NOTE....do you have a backup of the data??? because reinstalling your operating system will format and erase your data. So if you dont have a backup, you may want to take out the hard drive and plug it into another machine and see if you can make a backup copy of the data first

After that, you choose to boot from your Operating System Disk (Windows 7 disk) follow the prompts to format and reinstall your Windows.

Windows XP will not boot up. After Asus start-up screen, screen goes black with blinking cursor.

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows is missing - its most critical, core files have been corrupted beyond repair. The only thing you can do is to reinstall using the recovery cd or your own Windows install disk and an external cd unit.

Asus Eee pc 900. Boots up but after booting only shows black screen. How do I fix this?

If you are only getting a black screen and you are sure it's booting (how do you know?), then the problem would be the incorrect video settings in Windows. In this case, you might try starting in safe mode and resetting the video adapter.
If you see stuff on the screen as the system boots but then it goes black, then it's definitely a Windows issue.
If you see nothing at all but hear the system starting, then it's a hardware issue involving the video card.

Hi my laptop turns on and goes to the windows

Hi,

If it starts to load the operating system and then the display goes black then chances are that the dispay/video drivers are corrupt.

Boot the machine into safe mode by restarting the computer and repeatedly press the F8 key as it starts. This should bring up a sub menu with safe mode at the top. Use the cursor keys to highlight safe mode and press enter.
You will see white boot information scroll up the screen, be patient and wait for it to load up.
Click on your account and you will see a message about system restore. You don't want to use system restore so click on yes to work in safe mode.

Right click on My Computer/Computer and click on manage from the list. Then select Device Manager.

Look in the list for display adapters and click on the + or > next to to expand the list. Right click on the display adapter and select uninstall.

Restart the computer and it should load up the operating system and reinstall the drivers for the display.

Regards.

Eee pc boots to blinking cursor

You need to enter the bios when the computer turns on and configure the boot priority to boot from wherever you need it to for the Restore DVD. Then Save your changes and exit, now it should boot from the Restore DVD.

To enter BIOS it should tell you what button to press as the computer POST's, if not Google it, or try all the function keys.

Asus EEE PC 900A Linux- boot problem after downloading updates

Consider downloading a specific release of Ubuntu; eeebuntu. Download the ISO and then conenct an external DVD device to it, during the BIOS screen, choose the ESC button and boot from the external device.
This Ubuntu-specific group offers three kinds of ISO's (simple, super basic, and a loaded release), all of which allow all parts to work out of the box:

If this does not work, check the informal eeepc forums
