Jeep Cherokee radio says wait.What to do? - Car Audio & Video

fuses. first.
then if bad, unplug it. wait 1 hour and plug back in.
if not good now, time to get it serviced. as opr guide directs.

There is a "wait" period because someone has entered the wrong code 3 times.
You can try waiting with the key in the run position for 45 minutes. Just watch out for the lights coming on as that would just kill the battery.

Don't start it.... just leave the key all the way forward in the run position for about an hour.

The radio should say "code" after 45 min or so.

If you don't have the proper code, Just call any jeep dealer and talk to someone on the service drive... tell them you changed your battery and the radio wants a code that you don't have.
They should help you through the problem.

You can look in the glove box and in the owners manual for a code sticker.... Some people stick them to the back of the glove box or on the radio page of the owners manual.

call the dealer. there mite be a reset procces. when i worked at sears we had to call the dealer on problems like this.

Leave it SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself

This could take an hour or two (or more)

Jeep grand cherokee ltd, 1996 The radio is not working, when I switch the power on the antena motor makes a noise although the antena is always up, there is no sound from the radio what so ever, it says WAIT 2 1/2 hours but nothing happens, no tape radio cd, switch the radio off the antena makes a noise then the radio switches off.

Wait two hours, then put in the correct code.

have to wait--- if code put in wrong and goes from loc to sec will have to go to dealer to reset ur radio

did you have the ignition on for two hours with the radio turned on?????????

you will have to leave the radio on until it unlocks itself and resets, it could take 3mins or 3hrs, once this has happened you should be able to code the radio.
