In my HP 9800 the color cartridge that I have just replaced is not working and the light continually blinks. I have unplugged the printer, pushed the reset button and reinstalled the cartridge - not happy as it is a brand new cartridge.

This happened to me and it was such a simple fix, I forgot to pull off the tab at the bottom of the cartridge. I hope this is your problem also.

This printer has a design flaw that means if the ink cartridge is incorrectly inserted you can puncture the flexible circuit board behind the cartridges with the spring unit. You will have to order an entirely new carriage unit (that includes the circuit board!)

I need to know how to reset my printer, I 've cleaned the pads, but nothing... Thank you in advance...

Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments.
Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power."
Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times.
Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished.
Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.
