I have the business 2 pack ,when inserted in drive, i does not load, or install from either disc .

did you download Modern Warfare 2 to your hard drive?? If you have the space download your games to your hard drive cuts out lag time and errors.

Before beginning please note the following:
All your data will be erased by the end of this process.
Also I recommend to switch to Windows 7 (instead of XP) as they are far better and faster than Vista and XP. If you can switch your XP for Windows 7 then you should do that.

However the decision is yours.

Nothing else should be done except to backup your data.
Then, insert the XP disc in your dvd drive and restart your computer. When the message "Press any key to boot from CD" appears press enter.

When the XP setup loads, select to format your hard drive and install a fresh copy of XP. Follow the on screen instructions and you will have XP on your system in about 30-45 minutes.

You have to have the disc in your cd/dvd drive to play the game. the game will not play without the disc. If you have any expansion packs installed you need to use the latest expansion disc. For instance, I have Free Time but not Apartment Life so I must have the Free Time disc in the drive to play the Sims 2, not the Sims 2 disc.

Windows installer always formats the disk after checking the previous installation. There are two ways to overcome this problem. One, if windows still boots, then insert the installation disk in the drive and let it Auto Run, and ask you whether you want to upgrade the OS or install new. If you upgrade then the formatting will not take place as windows knows that there is already a window on the disk. But should you want a new installation then it will do all the checking and may hang again. So, upgrade. Two, dl you have a DOS bootup disk. If yes then boot up with DOS boot up disk and format the HDD with it. once it had formatted and windows checks up, let it. It will not hang now. as there in a very clean HDD.

Try uninstalling the orignal and expansion pack. If you have any other expansion packs uninstall them aswell. Install it all from scratch. If the problem doesnt subside, check your System Requirements, it may be that your computer doesnt support the data from Sims2.

have you tryed actualy cleaning the xbox lense by running a lense cleaner ? your supposed to clean any lense that reads discs after every 10 hours of play time because of the dust thats getting collected .

The game requires Windows XP SP2, or Vista..So that should not be the problem.

First install the latest version of Direct X which you can download FREE HERE.

Below is a small summary of what may be causing your installation problems.
This seems to be a problem some users are having.It seems to be either software related (other software not the actual software on the FSX disc itself), or hardware related (DVD drive not reading the disc properly).

To try solve this issue, follow these steps in order. If the problem is solved after step 1 (for example) you do not need to follow the instructions following that step. if not solved, move to the next step in the chain.


1. Some DVD readers can take up to 2 minutes to detect disc #2 (for reasons unknown). If the disc appears not to be detecting, just leave the computer for a few minutes and come back and check. Some users have reported that the disc #2 finally detects and installs correctly several minutes after inserting the DVD into the drive.


2. Manually browse the Disc #2 file contents in either Windows Explorer, or by accessing the DVD through the "My Computer" option and check the files on Disc#2 are actually different to those on Disc #1.


3. If you have the hard drive space available, copy the contents of both DVDs to a temporary folder on your hard drive, and install the product from the hard drive copies.

run the install program from the disc

the black screen at windows startup implies that u have a probleme with ur software package(service pack 2)

so get a fresh copy of the softwares u have mentioned
then 1st install windows serice pack 2 from the bootable disk
after that when windows starts install ms office professional.
