Question about ViewSonic PJ750 Multimedia Projector

2 Answers

We have a viewsonic PJ750. We were having trouble with getting the right colour. We ordered and replaced the lamp. It did not help. It looks like the RED colour is gone from the picture. When it is a primarily green picture, it looks good. When it is supposed to be red, it looks terrible. Are there settings on the machine to change this or do we need to buy a part of some kind?

I have tried to go into the settings of the projector. When I get into the settings window some options are highlighted, but the colour buttons are not highlighted and it does not let me change any colour.
We use a laptop to run the projector. The laptop shows the proper colour picture on it but when you look at the projector, it looks like it has filtered out some of the colours, RED.
Just wondering if this machine has colour lenses? Is one broken or just not working?

  • Fred Regier Mar 17, 2011

This has not fixed the problem

The colour settings are not highlighted so we cannot set them.

Tha laptop shows the right colour but the projector does not

Is there a colour filter that may have to be replaced?

Welcome to FixYa!

It looks like the Color Wheel of the projector is damaged or worn out.
The Color Wheel looks something like the picture below.

We have a viewsonic PJ750.

Replace the Color Wheel, you can purchase it at View Sonic's online store.
http://store.viewsonic.com/html/vsc_ibePPSerialNumSrch.jsp?minisite=11174&site=&respid=52561&language=US

I have attached a video on how to replace the color wheel. This is from a different kind of projector but it will give you the idea on where the Color Wheel is located inside the projector.

I hope that this will help.
Thank you for using FixYa.

No need to buy anything. check the color setting for the projector. then check the color settings on what the projector is connected too.

If the Lamp Fan is OK Then Problem will be in the Ballast Board ,It is what Powers Lamp on, and if the Lamp Fan Is Defective then Lamp will not Light Either,Fan has to Run in order to cool Lamp.

I turn on my Viewsonic PJD6251 but the lamp does not come on, and after a few seconds I get 2 red lights TEMP and LAMP. It is new, only 2 weeks I barely used. Good care.

sounds like a bad bulb

projectors get a resistance reading from the bulb and if it doesnt get right value it will give you the double red lights

only other thing it could be is if the fans in projector are not turning on

call viewsonic and tell them issue and make them resolve issue

or

if unit is only 2 weeks old bring it back to store and get replacement or call viewsonic and get them to send you replacement unit - it is too new to mess with it yourself and take chance on voiding warranty

We have a indicator "

Clean or replace the air-filter after every 100 hours of use to prevent overheating, which could damage the projector.
1 Make sure the projector is cool and the power cord is unplugged before beginning. 2 Vacuum the air-filter.
WARNING: Never operate the projector without the air-filter; doing so will damage the projector.

NO POWER

You will have to open it up and inspect the main AC fuse first, also need to look for bad caps with bulging/leaking tops-bottom.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC VX series monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Look for bad caps first and main AC fuse, yours is very similar to VA702.

Hello :

Try to change the bulb .

Here is how :

1:Make sure that your power switch is off and that the power cord is unplugged from the electrical socket.
It is also wise to unplug any other cables and label them in order to restore them in the right way once the lamp is replaced.

2:In order to see the lamp, remove the access handle on the outside cover. You may need to use a screwdriver.

3:Pull out the used lamp and clean the relevant parts using micro fiber products and not paper.
Please note that in some projectors a small inside filter should also be replaced.

4:Insert the new lamp into the projector carefully avoiding touching the glass of the lamp itself.
Touching the lamp will deposit skin oil that will likely damage any new lamp during use.

5:Reassemble the access panel, replug the cables and power up the projector.

Things You'll Need:
new projector lamp
screwdriver
micro fiber duster
Warning:
avoid touching the bare projector lamp.

please rate !

If you do not want to trouble shoot the problem down to component level in the power supply, you will be better off buying the replacement here: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=ViewSonic+N2635w+&stock=all
Check to make sure you do have 5vdc, 12vdc, 24vdc before ordering the new part you do not need.
Please post back what you find.

Red lights flashing on ViewSonic PJ750

This is a sign of overheating, its a thermal issue, I solved the problem with some compressed air, but absolutely DO NOT blow in the ldc assembly or you will get dust in the lens system. You want to blow the cmpresed air on the electronics not ont he optics. I found that over time dust hair ect collected on the thermosistor and caused the over temp error. Cleaning it resolved the issue.
