If the saw got overheated it would have that problem. Take a air hose and blow the dirt off the saw. You probably have to take a cover off and blow compressed air around the cylinder fins to clean that area. Also make sure you are using the correct gass oil mixture for the saw.

The engine in my My McCullock Promac 610 has suddenly become impossible to turn over using the starter cord although it turns over easily with the spark plug removed.

Keep in mind... Gasses compress, liquids do not. Remove the spark plug. Hold the saw so the spark plug hole is the lowest part of the engine... and pointed away from you. Pull the starter cord rapidly until all fluids are purged from the crankcase. If it happens again... rebuild or replace the carb. Good Luck !!

I have a McCulloch Mac 110 mini-Chain saw that needs a new chain blade. I believe it's a 12 inch... anything else I need to know to go buy a new bade?

Hello Kip;
If the new bar is not the same size as the old chains will not fit. Count the drive links on your chain.

74f1e6b.jpg
If your 44 your bar is 12", if your 49 your bar is 14", if your 54 your bar is 16" and finally if your 60 your bar is 18". If not of the following your chains will need to be professionally resized to fit (select 110 not Mac110 please).
Oregon Bar & Chain Selector

I seriously doubt you saw needs an "Intenz" bar.
The Oregon part number you choose can easily be converted to a different bar manufacturer's part number.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

My mcculloch petrol hedgetrimmer wont start, the pull cord has a lot of resistance. I have changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter but still no joy.Interestingly When i remove the spark plug i...

The fact that your engine turns over easily with the spark plug removed simply means that, with the plug removed, there is no compression, so the piston goes up and down very easily.
If it has been a while since you ran the machine, and if you left gas in it, your carb may have gotten gummed up from the gas losing it viability and turning to something like varnish. You might try spraying carb cleaner into the carb (with the air filter removed), let it sit for a few minutes, then try starting. In the future, you probably should get some fuel stablizer (available at almost any hardware store) and add it to the fuel that you use for your small machines. It will keep the gas viable for a much longer period of time.
Hope that you are lucky enough that the carb cleaner, a good dose, will work. If not, you may have to disassemble and clean out your carb. (if you've never done that, a series of digital camera photos so you know where to put things back is a good idea).

Sawwon't start or run

On my 110 you take off the front section of the saw body to get et the fuel tank and remove it to get at the fuel line. There isn't much room to work in there so be patient.I'll bet your carb needs new diapragms I bought my manual on e-bay.hope this helps
