Hi samit,

Here's what you can do to resolve your problem:

Option 1. You can remove the filter of your ODD:
Here's how: ODD Filter Removal

Option 2. Restore your computer back to factory state by the use of OKR.
How: Shut down your computer.
Press and hold the inverted arrow like key besides your power button.
Select ONE KEY RECOVERY -> Restore from Initial Back up then hit start
Wait for it to complete then setup your computer again and check the ODD capabilities.

Option 2. For futher troubleshooting on your Lenovo G560, you can contact the consumer support hotline for Lenovo at 877-453-6686 - Option 2,1 - If you are within warranty you should have the option to send it to their service center free of charge.

Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

Describe how you insert a dvd into a laptop

Hi Eunice, just want to clarify, for lenovo notebook if it doesn't have DVD drive you can use external DVD drive to access DVD CD. DVD external drive is just plug and play device once attached in your USB port, it will automatically detected and once detected you can use it already. Just install Burner application to burn some files if your DVD is capable of burning CD.

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa!

It depends on how you used the recovery disc that you have, reinstalling operating system will not take 23 hours just like what you said so there's a possibility that you're having problem with the Operating System on your computer. Unfortunately, Lenovo will not provide a product key for the Operating System since the an OEM version. What you can do is reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery Sofware or the Recovery Disc that came with the computer. Follow these steps for you to be able to reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery.

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Press the little button near the power button, it usually do have a drawing of an icon that looks like a horse shoe or a headset.

3. There will be a window that will appear which do have three option, One Key Antivirus, One Key Recovery and System Setup. Choose One key Recovery.

4. There will be another window that will appear which do have two option, Restore from initial backup and Restore from user backup,Choose Restore from initial back up

5. It will asked you if you want to continue, Just click on OK or YES.

6. Once done, Reboot the computer.

For Recovery Disc,

1. Insert the disc inside the drive.

2. Turn off the computer then turn it back on and keep on tapping F12

3. There will a window that will appear which do have three options, HDD,ODD/DVD/CD, and NAT, choose ODD/DVD/CD

4. It will asked you to press any key immediately, you will need to press any key immediately so that it will boot from ODD.

5. It will asked you to choose a partition, choose Disc 0 partition 1

6. Reboot computer once done.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa...

Hi there !

You operating system is corrupted and needs to repair or reinstall the operating system. But I suggest just run the repair mode.

If your windows 7 installation disc is not working, it means the Windows 7 installer DVD is not working properly, maybe the DVD have too much scratches or due to bad copy of installer DVD, (it is not working in CD, use DVD) try to use other Windows 7 installation disk and surely it will run the Windows 7 DVD set up menu.

I hope it helps you.

Hi!
Lenovo does not provide recovery discs for their systems. You would have to call Lenovo to request for one. They also have Lenovo Care, a fee-based software support if you need help reinstalling Windows 7.

I have successfully installed camera driver in my G560 laptop but i m not able to start the web cam, so how can i start it??

Are you using Windows 7? If you are using windows 7, Follow these steps:
Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed is for other versions of operating system. Before you install any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer then choose "troubleshoot compatiblity". It will allow you to choose what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.
