Question about Indesit W 123 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

My washing takes the water but stops as soon as it is supposed to drain the water out. The on-off light stops blinking. The timer rotates without any effect. However, the sipnner works if the timer is set for the spinner, but without draining the water. I have already cleaned the filter and pump. It seems nothing is stuck there. I would highly appreciate your advice. Regards, Amar Netherlands

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Have you been able to check if the drain pump is actually working when it should? If not, whilst the filter is removed, it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger with the power OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Good luck!

Washer agitates, drains OK, but spin doesn't start

Timer is defective. Your unit has a netural drain. When finished agitating, the shuts down and then starts up reversing to drain and spin. On the initial reverse start, the water drains without the transmission spinning. After a timed period 3-4 minutes, the timer is supposed to pause, stopping the motor for a few seconds. When the motor stops again, the transmission shift to the spin cycle and when the timer resumes power tothe motor it should spin. You are doing the same thing when you lift the lid...stopping the timer and then the tranny shifts and when you set the lid down, the washer spins. Replace the timer.......

Soon as i set cycle and swich on door light flashes open

hi,
The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Thanks for your question.

No rotate, no cyclation, no spin, just fill water and drain

Sounds like the washer lid switch may be defective, access the switch and jumper it to see if that is the problem,

Washing machine won't drain or finish cycle

It sounds like you have a drain pump stopped up or failed. Do you hear any noise when it is supposed to be draining? A humm or buzz?
