I started my Malibu in really cold weather. I smelled gas and opened the hood. Gas was running out from somewhere but it was night and i ccouldn't see where thee gas waas running from.A week later I...

Gas would leak out of a cold, hard, rubber fuel line. When the car warms up, the rubber line swells and seals itself up until it gets cold and leaks`again. Find that leaky fuel line asap or you're risking an engine compartment fire every time your car is started, when it's cold out.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and every time it rains or snow in the cold weather all the doors freeze shut what can i use to stop this

Get a can of silicone spray from your local parts store. Spray a rag liberally and wipe down all of the rubber gaskets that seal the doors to the car. The silicone spray will keep ice from freezing the seals to the door.

Trunk lid wIll not latch when it is cold. I can get it to latch after several attempts at closing it.

I would guess it needs a latch adjustment. The rubber trunk seal gets firm with cold weather.

Hi Im not 100% certain what the hyosung diaphram looks like, but most are held in with 4 small screws holding the plate where the vac line goes. There will be a spring and plunger activated off the centre of the diaphram. This should come with the new diaphram.
You will need to remove the fuel tap first, or have the tank upside down on something soft.
You are only dealing with a few screws and a couple of parts, so just go slow and remember how it came apart.

a thin smear of rubber grease my help fit the new diaphram, do not use silicon, it can stop the diaphram moving and is not petrol proof

I bought a Vigoro deluxe water timer last spring, it worked fine all summer. This year I can't seem to get it to work, I hook it up to the spicket and the water runs thru the whole thing and in on the...

I had the same problem with several of mine. So I tore one apart. The problem isn't that the valve doesn't close. The valve uses a rubber diaphram that flexes in and out, sealing off the water supply. The rubber diaphrams develop cracks, allowing water to pass through the valve. The rate of water flow depends on how large the crack is. The crack will become larger over time as the valve moves the rubber diaphram in and out. The diaphram can be easily replaced. However, these units are not designed to be taken apart and repaired and I can't find a replacement for the diaphram. The bottom line is that once the diaphrams crack (and my experience is that they all do within 1-2 years-time), you have to throw it away and buy a new timer.

One valve of my Vigoro timer will not close completely. It's been in use since about March. Could it have sand lodged in the valve? Can I fix it myself?

My 1999 Malibu sunroof works when the weather is fairly warm but during cooler temps. the sunroof will partially open and not close.

Its probably sticking on the rubber seals, when warm the rubber is pliable, when cold it stiffens up, try cleaning the rubber seal with alcohol, when cleaned put some armor-all on a rag and wipe the seal down with it, also some silicone spray helps...

99 CBR 900 Front fork seals

If the seal has been cracked by the cold weather it should be replaced. For someone mechanicly inclined and with the proper tools this is not a hard job. For the novice it can be one of those times you could have sent it to the shop and spent less time and money, and gotten better results....
As to a seal conditioner, the seals today are generally made of synthetic material. No "conditioner" will work. If the seal is made of rubber you have a 90% chance that a product called 'MARVEL MYSTERY OIL' will solve the problem. This prouduct was created in 1917 and marketed in 1923. Google the product name for more hystory and uses today. Basicly, the oil causes rubber to swell. This tightens seals and thus fixes the problem. Most any good auto parts store has this stuff on the shelf. By the way, if the bike was purchased new, wouldn't this be a warranty repair?

You could try surf board wax or spray crc on a rag and wipe the seals.
