Question about FaxBack Inc NET SatisFAXtion for PC

1 Answer

Our Exchange 2003 server had to be rebuilt. Since them Net SatisFAXtion hasn't been working. We changed the SMTP Gateway settings to point to our new server but that did not resolve the issue. What else should I try?

Smtp port

Networks assign port numbers to different types of incoming and outgoing traffic.
One example of this is the port assigned to SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), which is used to package and transfer electronic mail, or email.
In most cases, SMTP is assigned to port 25 in the network's Exchange server.
If you want to find out which port your network uses to route SMTP traffic, you can check it by logging in to the Exchange server

Log in to the Exchange System Manager in your mail server.
Click "Servername."
Click "Protocols."
Click "SMTP."
Find the icon labeled "Default SMTP Virtual Server" and right-click on the icon.
Select "Properties."
Select the "General" tab and click the button marked "Advanced."
Read the value listed in the entry for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
This value is the SMTP port used by your network.

How to Setup Microsoft Exchange Server

<p>Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 released on September 28, 2003. One of the new features in Exchange Server 2003 is enhanced disaster recovery which allows administrators to bring the server online more quickly. This is done by allowing the server to send and receive mail while the message stores are being recovered from backup. Now newly released version of Exchange server is Exchange 2010 after 2007 version. Exchange server 2010 officially released on 9th November 2009. But here I will discuss about Microsoft Exchange server 2003. In a workstation most of users are use Microsoft Exchange server as mail server.<br /> <p><span><span><b>Requirement of Exchange Server 2003:</b></span></span> <span> </span>Required OS for Exchange Server2003 is Microsoft Server 2oo3. There this Server should be a domain controller. For Exchange 2003 need some protocol like <br /> <p> <br /> <p><span><span><b><span> </span><span> </span></b></span></span>1&gt; asp.net<br /> <p><span> </span><span> </span>2&gt; SMTP<br /> <p><span> </span>3&gt;NMTP<br /> <p><span> </span><span> </span>4&gt;W.W.W<br /> <p> <br> <p>IIS should be install in server . I have install the windows component such as IIS, ASP.NET, NNTP, W.W.W. from control panel with OS CD. Then I insert the Exchange Server Disk in CD rom drive and start the preparation of forest. I open the disk and run the forest prep from Exchange 2003 deployment tools. It will take several times to complete. After completing the forest prep I have run the Domain prep with the same procedure. The Domain prep will take also lots of time to complete. Then I have installed the exchange server by creating a new exchange organization. The total process also possible to complete from Run with command. The total job takes a huge time almost one hour or more. After installing Exchange Server I have configured it as per direction of the company. I have add users, groups, I create new administrative group. Following this process there I have done the whole job successfully. <br> <p><span></SPAN>

Cannot send email ,receive ok

first turn off sync Mail accounts in iTunes and remove the mail accounts in the iphone, then with openss from my windows WinSCP set permissions /var/mobile/Library in the folder "Mail" to 777, now itunes can sync yours mail accounts, then go to iPhone open icon Settings into then go to "Mail, Contacts, Calandars" option and go Accounts "xxxx" -> SMTP here set the username and password for ur account and delete other SMTP Servers and if you have another account with other server you just add. and add /exchange to the end of my server name (mail.server.com/exchange) then it worked perfectly. You also need to make sure that your smtp port on the exchange server matches the iphone's smtp port and that your firewall won't block it.

I can't get exchange to smtp out. godaddy was the email host but they weren't very helpful and change MX to point to my server. Now it's worse... can't get incoming or outgoing.

1. The mx record has to be changed to an adress, which can be reached from the internet. It has to be an public IP Adress or you have to use dyndns.org or something like that. If the Server is not reachable directly in the Internet, you have to set your Internetrouter to forward smtp to your server in your network.

2. There are cases, when you need to configure a Smart Host for your e-mail server. A typical example is the situation, when your ISP blocks outbound connections on TCP port 25. Another, very common case is when you are using an IP address which belongs to a range of Dynamic IP addresses. It is a common practice to drop smtp connections or discard e-mail messages sent from a dynamic IP address.
a. Open your Exchange System Management Console - Administrative Groups - "Groupname" - Server - "Servername" - protocols - smtp.
b. Click right to"virtual standard server for smtp" and choose properties.
c. Change to tab delivery.
d. Then choose the button advanced.
Here you can set the full qualified domain name and you can set a smarthost entry. May be this helps

Outlook 2003 will not send e-mails when I am away from home.

Hello,

Most ISP's don't allow you to use their SMTP/Outgoing server while you are connected to another provider. You have a couple of options for correcting this.

1. You can enable SMTP authentication with your local ISP information. Here are some screenshots that you can use to make the changes.

http://www.sowega.net/techSupport/authentication_outlookxp.htm

2 If option 1 doesn't correct the issue, you will need to contact the ISP that you are using while away from home and ask them for the name of their SMTP/Outgoing server. You can also use the above screenshots to change the SMTP server to the server name they give you. If you use this option, you can uncheck the option that says "My outgoing server requires authentication", you wont need that enabled if you have the actual server name.

Thanks

mail server issue. check your outgoing mail server. Most smtp depends on your isp. for instance, use smtp.sbcglobal.net for at&t isp. if you have an exchange server use your exchange server's outgoing mail.

Hope this helps!
