This is a problem with your audio card. The first thing I would try is to reinstall the driver. If this does not work that the problem is with your card physically and it will need replaced. To replace it you would have to contact Dell.

I love my speakers, but when iTunes stops playing music, they make a horrible scratchy crackling noise....any suggestions?

is your itune also connected for charging when you connected to your speaker? it could be the possible causes during itune finish playing the internal charging noise from switching supply adaptor come into the audio line get into your speaker, so you may hear the noise. If this is the problem, you may try to use differentiate line in isolator. mostly people use in the car to isolate engine alternator noise. you can find in car accessories shop.

My dell dimension 3000 makes cracking sounds when i play music

Check your speakers first. Plug the cable from your speakers into a cell phone, ipod or some other music device that has headphone port. If the speakers are crackling then, then you know it's the speakers. If not, then it's a computer issue in which case you might want to contact Dell.

Good luck!

My dell d600 cant produce music sound

What program is playing the sound file? If you want to be completely sure that its not a codec issue then play it with VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - VLC can play absolutely anything usually.
If it still doesnt play then it can only be one of two things:
1. - corrupt driver / software issue - confirm this by seeing if anything else plays through the speakers, if you get noise from other things then its not this.
2. - Broken speaker - if you cant get anything at all to make noise, and its not 1, then it could be a faulty speaker issue. Technician needs to look at it.

Finally if its only one file obviously it could be a corrupt or broken file, but I'm sure you've tested on more than one file

When i play music there is crackling and popping noises inside the speakers

Check to make sure it isn't the speakers with earphones. If it doesn't make the sound you have a bad speaker or a bad amplifier.

Crackling noise from subwoofer!

If ayou have a system with speakers that works and a different set is crackling
the set that crackles is to be determined the bad set. Cones dry up a bad assembley just coinsidents having a bad set of speakers. It is an AUDIO problem not a computer problem
