Question about GE WBSR3140D Top Load Washer

1 Answer

I have a GE topload washer, I think the model # is WBSP1060T( there were three model # on the washer-VVSRV1040V & YVSR1040V were on there too) any way the water will not stop filling no matter what setting it is on and it also starts aggitating as soon as the lid closes even though there is not enough water in it yet, the only time it stops aggitating and filling with water is when it is on the spin cycle. It seems to spin and drain correctly, I have also not noticed and leaks. I hope I described this correctly thanks for any help!!!

As to the filling issue this would either be the pressure switch or the hose that goes to the pressure switch to the tub has come off if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank this opinion it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick
p.s the starts agititating is normal when the lid closes it is engaging the lid switch

Remove the front panel of the washer by using a putty knife to release the retaining clips, located in the seam between the front panel and the washer's top, about 2 inches in from each side. With an empty wash tub, remove the small hose on the left side of the outer tub and clean out the inside of the hose. Replace the hose. Test.

Leaking from under the washer

there are 2 metal clips between the top and front panel. you can use a putty knife to unlatch these clips and the front will come off, then you can look inside to see where the water is coming from.

No hot water into washer

In your problem you describe that you are getting hot water are you getting cold water too?. Make sure on the water valves are on the full open setting to eliminate a water pressure diffrence and any other valves connected to those water lines. If that checks out check for clogs in the hoses and filters that could be backed up. If that dosent fix the problem then its in the washer either the hot/ cold regulators or the timer.

Changing the belt on my GE washer

Take a 3inch plastic putty knife and slip it appx 2 inches from each side between the front panel and the top assy. There are 2 spring clips in this area. If you take a flashlight and look between the panels you can see them. When you pop off the panel it will come forward and lifts off the bottom clips freely. Install it by just setting in the bottom panel and pushing on each top side of the front panel.
