Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. The reason why the leeter became number is that the NUMLOCK key is on. Press FN + Numlock key on the keyboard to turn it off.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Hold down the FN key then press Num lock. Everything should be back to normal after that.

You can try holding the keyboard upside down and blowing into the area where the fn key is located. If that fails, an office supply store can sell you a can of compressed air with a directional nozzle that can give a more powerful blast of air to remove the impediment.
Good luck!

I want to know how to use the function button

The function button, or FN button, is used just like the shift key or ctrl key. Hold the FN button down and press the key with the pre programmed function you desire to use. For instance, on an HP 1245 the function or short cut key to put the computer in sleep mode is FN+F5. The Keys with functions have that feature indicated by a symbol for the function in a squared circle. Most of these are your F keys at the very top row of the keyboard. Some are on the number pad keys.

Hi!
You have enabled NUM LOCK. Press button "fn" and find another button with blue tag "Num Lock". Pres both buttons at once.
Hope it helps

Some letter Keys on my Keyboard are numbers why

You have enabled the NumLock function of your keyboard. Find the NumLck key on your keyboard. It is normally on the top row of keys or above the numbers keypad. Then press Fn (Function) and NumLck at the same time. That will toggle OFF the numLock setting. It may be different function key combination on the different computer manufacturer. Dell is usually Fn + F4, Compaq is Fn + ScrLK. Each manufacturer may use a different set of key

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

Letter keys are stuck on numbers don't know how to change them bo

Hold the "Fn" key down while pressing "F9" key, subtitled "Padlock" (!!) - is equivalent to NUM LOCK nomenclature used on most computers. Note - Repeating above resets number pad to ON.

If that doesn't work for you something is malfunctioning as far as I know.
