Speed up computer

you can but a daster cpu but you might need other equopment to keep the machine cool. Generally, if you buy a faster chip you will need better cooling.
A solid state drive will speed your machine up, SSDs are expensive but very quick, much faster than a magnetic hard disk. The best , most reliable bang for buck SSD is the SANDISK EXTREME PRO at the moment, these come with a 10 year warranty.
You can add faster ram . Lower CAS latency and faster chips really help.
SO
FASTER CPU
FASTER SSD
FASTER RAM
AND SOME IMPROVED COOLING
= FASTER PC BUT POORER OWNER!!
GOOD LUCK

My Nancy Drew computer game won't work

Hi longview924,

Unfortunately there is no way to make that game run on your mac. Your mac uses the older powerPC architecture (all G3, G4 and G5 macintosh machines use this architecture) but the game requires that you have a mac using the newer intel architecture.

I found the details of the system requirements here:
http://www.buzz99.com/1167/nancy-drew-trail-of-the-twister-system-requirements/

Intel and PowerPC processors are very different in how they work (Intel chips are CISC chips and powerPC chips are RISC chips), which is why there is no way around it. This is also the reason why apple dropped support for the powerPC architecture in mac OS 10.6 upwards.

Without meaning to sound harsh, it may be time to consider an upgrade - macs are very expensive but the intel macbooks are leaps and bounds faster than the powerPC range :)

Hi. I have a HP Compaq 6820S, Intel Pentium T7250, 2 Gb RAM, 160 Gb HDD, i have a problem, Laptop won't charge battery. I let the laptop in sleep mode, around 7 days, when i come back, battery was 0%,...

try a new battery yet? (brand new fresh)
sleep mode. so you want it to run for 7 days in sleep.
ive no idea how long this laptop runs in sleep
and hibernate is longer.
no idea at all.
you do know that the speed features are programmable
right?
including what chips do and do not go to sleep'
like USB ports, WIFI, and all wake on , features. like Ethernet chip.
and more.
why not just turn it off, and let the battery last longer..
this mode sleep kills batteries faster. way faster.
leave it plugged in all the time to the wall pack.
so the battery never drains unless you need to use it, on battery.

Stock No. 81-166-0331 Quantaray 7" Digital

My picture frame works with the slower cards only. My game camera only works with the faster chip. Now that you know what it works with, buy a 2.0 of higher capacity. I am pretty sure you cannot make it work with the faster card.

Can I install DDR3 RAM chips on my laptop?

Sorry to say but that is not possible upgrading the RAM using a different RAM chip will not work, since your MOBO only supports DDR2 of RAM but if you just want to make the computer work faster you go and upgrade the DDR2 RAM up to 4GIG....

Cpu speed currently 1.8mhz spec indicates 3000+ msi k8t neo 2 can u set cpu speed faster?

You do not mention the CPU name, but if the CPU is a Semprom 3000+, then 1.8Ghz is the correct clock speed for the chip.

The "3000+" is what is called a "performance rating" - It is NOT the chips clock speed in GHz.

Look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sempron

If you want faster, then you would need to overclock.

Dell

Well mishel, its a little yes, a little no. yes you can upgrade your processor, but not all the way to 4.3ghz, with whats in your computer now, the only processors that will fit are of socket 478, its one of Intel's older chips. There faster chips to date clock in around 3.0-3.4, and that's with four cores, if you need a faster chip, you need to get another motherboard, and with your case that can be a problem. The best processor I could find was 3.0ghz and under $100 on newegg.com. Good Luck
