Roomba only goes backwards for a brief time then shuts off and beeps nine times. I've taken it apart and used can air to clean the 4 sensors. Any other suggestions?

Have you popped out the black and white castor wheel and cleaned that out? It is a part that should be replaced from time to time. The vac uses an optical sensor to see if the wheel is moving. If it isn't, it tries to back up and see if something is stuck in the wheel. Pop the wheel out, clean it and the shaft it sits on and put it back in. Wipe out the cavity before you reinstall it.

After running a short time ok, it starts going in circles, then gives error code 9

The nine-beep error means you have a dirty or defective bumper sensor. You might want to start by spraying compressed air around the sensors to move and dirt or debris that are causing the vacuum to think it is jammed against a wall or furniture.

Roomba 530 Nine beep error. I took off the front bumper and cleaned it throughly. Looks like itmay have to do with poor infrared emitters as they dim over time with getting older.

Nine beeps mean optical sensor unit/bumper actuator failure. Here's a link for you. Hope it helps....http://www.protechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=245435775

535 series - just put in new battery - does not work - just spins around in circles and tries to back up - then beeps nine times (bumper?) Won't dock.

Hey

Please look for other same problem posted here ;-)

You are probably facing a bumper sensor issue.
Try to clean the bumper first and if this goes on, either call iRobot service, or
take a look at this page for the step by step 9 beep fix.

Have fun
