Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

My printer worked for a couple days fine after the last time you sent me a solution, however when I moved a few days ago, and tried to set it up, the same problem now. (won't print black). I have tried all the solutions you sent before with no luck. Anything else I can try? I'd removed and cleaned the printer head previously and it didn't help, then did the alcohol rub that you suggested and that made it work last time. But not this time. Also tried using nail polish remover as someone else suggested, no luck with that either. Thanks for your help.

Are you saying rub the printer head with alcohol or the ink cartridge? I soaked the printer head with cleaning solution earlier today for a couple hours until it was totally clean. I do not think any ink will run out of the print head. BUt I will go try it now. Thank you for your ideas.

Early today I put the alcohol on plain paper in a little tray and put the print head in it for 3 hours. I came clean, everything was white. There was no more ink on the print head. When I put the print head back in the machine, I run print nozzle check twice. Ink comes out of the cartridge but nothing shows on the paper. I can see ink in the little hole on the print head but it does not come onto the paper. I rubbed the hole in the ink cartridge with alcohol and black ink comes out. I tried another new cartridge in case that one was damaged. I ran cleaning twice, nozzle check, then deep cleaning and nozzle check. Still no black print. Should I start over and clean the print head again with the alcohol and then hot water?

I could not understand this person's meaning, he says something about the "get drying up" because of "whether" (I think maybe he means ink dries up because of weather?) also he said dunk the print head in hot water for five minutes and I thought the print head was not supposed to be immersed. Please clarify. I don't want to ruin the printer head. He confused me as I think he meant the ink cartridge not the print head.

I have soaked the print head for 24 hours, changing ammonia/water solution several times, still have no black print and now the color has gone as well (cartridge probably out of ink). However i have used a number of black ink cartridges, all new, and nothing so far has worked. After the 24 hour soak, I ran warm water and dried it on paper towels for another while, it was really clean. Then replaced it, put in cartridges, ran 2 cleaning cycles, nozzle check, deep cleaning, nozzle check, still nothing.
Thanks for your help I guess it's time to give up...or do you have another suggestion?

The button did not go back to green. It stayed orange after pressing resume twice and releasing power button. It is still on orange and printer will not turn off when pushing power button.

Hello!
here is what you need to do

1. Remove the ink tank.
2. Remove the print head, Cleaning the print head using a moistened cotton / paper / tissue, may not be the exact solution because its just the first remedy when encountering this problem.
Take out the print head and soaked it to water with ammonia solution. Leave it overnight. You can also use canned air to blow the small tube in the print head to unclogged once you have taken it out from the water with ammonia.

These links will give you a better understanding on how to clean and unclog the print head for canon printer.

Hi

The get dries up easily because of the whether condition. Rub the print head into a piece of paper with rubbing alcohol and make sure ink flows. The run the print nozzle for 2 times to clean the ink residue.

If still not working, dip the print head into hot water for 5 minutes. Then run the print nozzle.

If still not working, the ink maybe damage and needs new ink.

Post comment for more help. Regards

You have to put the rubbing alocohol into a plain paper and then rub the print head until ink flows on it. Dip the print head in a hot water to soften the stick ink into the print head.

  • Benjamin Jr Singson Mar 15, 2011

Do not forget to run the print nozzle to clean thoroughly. If not ink comes out, the cartridge maybe damage.

    Hi

You have to rub the print head (where the ink flows) in a plain paper until ink flows and then run the print nozzle.

  • Benjamin Jr Singson Mar 16, 2011

If the ink flow when rubbing the alcohol and if does not print, go to printing preferences of your printer and then adjust the color setting. If black is no printing, click the grayscale box, if other color uncheck the grayscale box if there is option like this.

I don't have many more details. We put in a new cartridge a few weeks ago, but my wife said it was working okay for a couple days, and then after that it began taking an extremely long time to print.

Uninstall the printer. Goto Control Pannel - Printers and Faxes and delete the printer.
Re-install the printer. This would fix any issues with the drivers and setting.

Hope this helps

No black print

I work for kodak with these printer's.
I provide tech support for them.
For this problem all i would recommend is doing the deep clean on the printhead twice, Doing it more then twice is a waste of ink and if it doesnt fix it the second time it won't.
Also replacing the black ink cartridge.
Also calibrating the printer has worked for me a few times.
I would not recommend cleaning the printhead manually, thats more of a chance to break it then fix it.
I would just recommend calling into the kodak tech support and getting a replacement printhead to fix that clogged nozzel problem.
