When I log on LAN the internet works very quick but for 2 weeks now when I log on wireless the internet is working very slow. So I suppose it has something to do with my D-link router

Thank you for using FixYa

I think you are probably correct because each device adds to the network, further splitting the signal and rebroadcasting it through that device. On your LAN you are hardwired but the wireless is limited to open air space as well as external electrical noise around it. You might try moving the wireless in the room to a better location, and remember the further you get from it the weaker the signal. They wireless never seem to work as well as we expect. The frequency is close to a portable telephone range and that may give you an idea of the quality. Worse case is to purchase a Range Extender.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

It may not be the router, but rather the internet itself, There have been major slowdowns, lately.....One thing to try is to change the router channel to 11, as the default channel cinflicts with cordless land line phones, even 3/4 miles away....

Hi,
you can do a quick troubleshooting on the laptop.
1. used another network cable and check that no pins are broken on the laptop.
2. go to device manager and remove the network adapter and reinstall it.

if this don't work. if you have a wireless router, you can connect to the internet over the wireless network adapter on the laptop.

good luck!!

Same situation here. Wired connection from modem works fine. I can also log in to the router via routerlogin.net. However, the router does not detect an internet connection.

I wonder if your 'Active Wireless LAN' checkbox, found under 'Network > Wireless LAN > General Wireless LAN tab' is really checked. If so, and yet, your router doesn't broadcast, then I suppose its hardware is faulty.
Just my 2 cents... Carlos

Can't establish connection by cable

Assuming you would have checked your LAN port. Try using a USB LAN port device and see if it picks up. Else you can test connecting the modem via Ethernet cable to another machine. Does it work,? If it does then its your machine.

quick access web button depends on the settings you configured when you first set it up.
  • if you set it up to work when it is connected to a network thru wifi, it will always look for a specific network or wifi
  • if you change connection or different network, then access the quick access web again then change the network settings
  • if you use LAN/ethernet, access the quick access web again and enable the LAN configuration

Y have problem whit the internet it to slow

dude that is in terms if your ISP.
but before you call your isp try to do this:

Scan for viruses ( but first update the antivirus software you use to the most updated virsion )

CMD codes ( Cant connect to Internet )
1. Go to command prompt
2. Type-in Ping 127.0.0.1 = Lan Card address
3. Get the value of the pockets Sent, Recieved and Lost.
4. If the value is ( Sent = 4, Recieved = 4 and Lost = 0% ) Then the lan card and wireless card is working fine and the problem is with the ISP = Contact ISP

OR

No Connection using router
CMD codes ( Cant connect to Internet )
1. Go to command prompt
2. Type in ping 192.168.0.1 or which ever the address of your router.
3. Get the value of the pockets Sent, Recieved and Lost.
4. If the value is ( Sent = 4, Recieved = 4 and Lost = 0% ) Then the lan card and wireless card is working fine and the problem is within the Router configuration. = Advice the CX to Contact the Router manufacturer or ISP

try going to the control panel , find internet connections or wifi connections
in the first instance follow the wizard
in the second instance you may have to put in the access code from the back of the wifi unit so that it connects
