I have a Hahnel unipal 1000 360 battery charger, have lined the first and third bar up with the first and third on my battery. The bottom light flashes red while charging, green when finished. The top remains red the entire time. when I put the battery in my camera it holds only 1 battery bar. Am i charging incorrectly?

SOURCE: Battery Charging Problem

First of all I would make sure that the battery is in correctly. There should be an arrow on the battery that should line up with a plus sign on the battery door. Once the battery is installed correctly then place the camera on the charger and the light should be a solid red. If that still doesn't work then I would be more inclined to think that you may have a defective charger. I would call Casio repairs and see what they can do to help you.

SOURCE: battery wont charge flashing red

Every rechargeable battery deteriorates thoughout it's life of usage. may be it's time to buy a new one. Sometimes the terminals on the battery get in touch with metal things and short the circuits within.

SOURCE: when trying to charge my battery... the light

Battery problem. Well known problem with the NP-20 battery. It can be repaired by connecting it to ~4-4.5V 1-1.5A for about 5-10 seconds and then charged normally with the charger.
Of course a new battery will be better.

SOURCE: Battery will not charge

I tried putting the battery on the charger and then removing it as soon as the red led blinked on. I repeated it 35 times. No luck.
I then tried the square 9 volt battery method described by lancsamb above. I felt the 9 volt get hot so I disconnected it and tried the battery on the charger. Still got the red blinking led. I tried the 9 volt again and left it on about 20 seconds. It got warm again. I then placed the battery on the charger and voila, it is charging. Thanks for your help.

Hahnel combi tf won't work with Panasonic Lumix g1

Same problem. I contacted Hahnel (via their website) who provided a new receiver with a different code marking on the battery cover.. BBBF instead of BACC. This now works. At Panasonic's advice I checked firmware on the camera and reset all parameters but this had no effect.

Battery exploded when connected to the charger

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
If the battery post or buss bar is broken internal of the battery it can and will explode. I have been charging batteries since the mid 1960's and can recall at least 5 batteries that have out right exploded when either connecting a charger or jumper cables. Each and every time it makes a mess that you have to clean up with baking soda and water. This of course is not the norm but it does happen and it is always because there is a problem with the internal parts of the battery. Even if the buss bar between the cells has broken it is the same as having a broken post problem... bottom line... battery explodes and there is no warning!

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

My Duracell battery charger has a blinking red light.Use to be a constant red then green when it was charged. Now, just red..then blinking red..then not at all.

I had the same problem with flashing red lights. Both sides on a four battery charger. I swapped the batteries to another charger and the batteries were fine. They charged normally. I put some different batteries in the charger and the same flashing light situation. Those batteries also charged normally in a different charger. I looked closely at the back of the charger and, low and behold, "made in China". Why does that not surprise me. The bottom line, it may not be a battery issue.
