There should be a little door on the bottom right of the device that you can insert the sim card.
Open the door, insert the sim with the gold contacts down and close the door.
Here's a video as well!

Sim card for Samsung Galaxy tablet 4?

A SIM card is for 4G LTE internet service, so if you have a Samsung Tab 4 ensure it is 4G capable before trying to insert a SIM card. If you try to insert a SIM card into a SD Card slot you may damage the card reader.

That being said, I believe it is located on the right side of the tablet. Sometimes the SD Card slot and the Sim card slot are right next to each other. Once you open the cover that reveals the slots there should be small icons for the SD Card and the Sim card. Normally, the SIM card slot will have a little notch on the icon. Attached are guides with pictures.

My SAMSUNG tablet SIM Base is faulty, hence I am not having any internet connectivity via my SIM service provider which is Airtel. What can I do?

Hello,

Had a problem very similar to this. I took it to my local servicing agent and they found the SIM Base to be defective. They replaced the section but charged 75 USD (it was out of warranty) then they reinitialized the SIM and all was well.

Best wishes,
Joe

Samsung galaxy tablet wont connect to server, says network error

Is your Samsung Galaxy Tab locked with any particular network? If so..when you insert other networks sim..it will show error messages like network error/invalid sim etc.I suggest you can approach your network provider and get the unlock code for your device. You can follow the free unlock instructions from Mobileunlockguide.com and enter the unlock code easily. This way you can unlock the device very easily.

I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab from a Telstra network provider without a sim card. I am with Vodafone for my iPhone and have 3G on the sim. I want to put the sim card into the Tab for internet...

the galaxy tab will be locked to the provider you got it from, which is why your sim isnt being recognised. You will need to unlock the tab to allow it to accept any sim. To get it unlocked you need to request an unlock code from Telstra
