Question about Toshiba SDV393 DVD Player/VCR

2 Answers

Toshiba SD330E Turned it on one day to find no power light or other lights. Has it just died. Its only a few years old. Is there a fuse I can change (other than the plug - I have tried several different power cables which I know work).

I had the same problem with a SDV393. I called tech support and they told me to unplug is for 3 minutes and then press the "STOP" button on the front panel for 5 seconds. It worked on the power came back on. Just a suggestion.

My Toshiba RDXV60 stopped working, there are no lights no sound and will not respond to the remote or to button operation.

if you want to confirm if the transformer in the power supply is also bad you have to make a voltage checking. turn on the dvd player and make a voltage checking at the output at the power supply board.

Toshiba DVR610 suddenly will not power up, no lights, no sound, nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Check the fuse and diodes. If fuse is not blown check for open resistors in the power supply area of your DVR. The problem will most likely be in the power supply section of your DVR

Red light is barley on

The CyberHome CH 300 is a good, inexpensive DVD player with a power supply board prone to fail, because of a few weak components, especially if left turned on and not used.
Usually, if the power supply fails, the red light will not illuminate when plugged in, and of course not turn green when turned on.

If you have this specific problem, I can repair the power supply for $20.00. Contact me at FrancisH49@hotmail.com to arrange shipping and return of the repaired board.

VCR WILL NOT PLAY

The problem is the tape mechanism is malfuctioning. It trys eather to load or play a tape and a sensor inside tells the microprocessor to shut down this mechanism before damage is done to the tape. BUT sometimes a malfunction causes a damaged tape too. this unit has NO user serviseable parts inside itself, so its time to take this puppy into a repair shop to see if its worth the repair , Unless this units more then a few years old?? then its time to buy a shiny new unit. Good luck
