Hello Laney,
Please go the operator control panel. Touch the icon that allows you to select full color, single color black and white. Select black then go to the :additional functions button located to the right of the screen. It is a "hard "buttin as opposed to the on screen "buttons". When u select additional functions you will get a menu of tabs . At the upper right top is copy settings. Select it. Scroll down to the "STANDARD SETTINGS " tab select it You now can store or initialize. Press store. You will see a confirmation of the settings you are about to store. Press ok. Baby you be fixed. Take care. Let "FIXYA " know I helped you please.

How do you get into service mode on the canon irc3220 ?

To enter the service mode on the 3220 just press "additional functions" key then press 2 and 8 at the same time then press the additional functions key again. Be very careful what you do in the service mode as you can mess things up quickly if you change the wrong settings.

Problems with greyscale printing as colour on the Canon CLC3220

From whatever software you are printing, you will need to select the properties or features. In Pagemaker, it was features, but most other programs I now see it under properties for the 3220 on the print screen. You will need to find where it gives you the options for color. They should be color, greyscale or black & white. The default is generally color. Generally the 3220 will know if it is not a color document and print the black and white as a greyscale, but sometimes you have to force it.

If you are printing crop marks and color bars, then your document is recognized as color even though it may not be.

Finally, some programs use a black that is actuall 100% of CMY & K. If you are using InDesign and select registration as your black, instead of the plain black, then you document is recognized as color.
The same holds true if you select a pantone grey which is created from several colors. So also make sure that your document is truly greyscale and or that you tell the copier to print in greyscale.

I have a canon 3220 N copy machine it copy in black an white very good but in color copying the colors and figures appears oblique! please what is the problem and how can we fix it?

Firstly, you will need to perform an auto gradation adjustment.although the chances of it curing this problem are slim. Enter the additional functions mode by pressing the head key, then select 'COMMON SETTINGS' then select 'ADJUSTMENTS/CLEANING' then select 'AUTO GRADATION CORRECTION' then select 'FULL ADJUST'. The machine will print out a chart and ask you to copy it from the glass, repeating this several times. Now, this is just a measure- your real problem is your ITB assembly (intermediate belt) - the belt can slip as the rollers are dirty when turning. Problem is, you can't do this yourself unless you really know what you're doing. This ITB assy may need servicing or replacing it entirely or in parts if it has done it's life.
