I have a Kenmore Elite Calypso and I have had several occurances where it does not spin out complete and it is not over loaded or unbalanced.
A code of LF appears and the clothes are still dripping water.
I have to go to the shortest cycle on the panel which is for 22 minutes and then add extended spin cycle in order for it to work.
There is no "Spin cycle" unfortunately on this type of washer and it makes you go thru an entire wash sequence all over in order to spin.
Any idea what this code means?? I'm not having any luck with any manual sites or by any other means.
This is where to find the manual. When you get to it, it tells you that LF is for long fill which means it is taking longer than ten minutes to fill with water so it shuts off and displays the error code.

Re: LF code appears and washer does not spin out
I believe it is long fill but if your interested there is two latches left and right of the top front at the horizontal seam right below the lid deck, use a putty knife and slide center to side to find, carefully press and it will go in then lift the lid and repeat on other side, the lid lifts exposing the washtub. On the front panel is 4 screws now exposed to remove, this front panel has your tech manual and it may have the codes and tests to correct the problem or find the solution.

The LF code stands for long fill.. I would suspect a water inlet solenoid valve as the most likely suspect. It may be the hot or the cold valve. If the valve does not completely open the time to fill your machine takes too long. You can't replace just the one valve because the part contains all of the water inlet valves. That of course jacks up the cost but what can you do.
The FL error code means: Flood Condition: FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed
With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
This problem I see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.
There is a check "valve" in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. You can remove this piece, and might avoid changing the pump.

Try unplugging the washer for 10 min. This will reboot the circuit board. Sometime you can get small power surges from the electric company and these will confuse the electronics in the curcuit board. Unplugging and resetting the system wil sometimes work.
LD means long drain and according to the manual your drain hose could be clogged or kinked.
LF means long fill. check your water hoses and the screens to make sure they are not clogged. Had that happen to me once and i had to change the hoses. several months later same thing happened and it was the motor pump part # 8054968, this you can fix yourself.
CL or CA is an over amp draw most likely caused by the motor thermal protector or motor controller It can be caused by too large of a load try to press "STOP/CANCEL" to clear if the problem returns you will need to get inside the unit
