SOURCE: bissell carpet cleaner won't spray water or cleaner

If I may! In most cases the heater is clogged. It might be clogged with soap that has harden over time. You need to take the handle apart. You will see a metal box(thats the heater) besides the wires there are two tubes connected to the heater. remove the tubes but label or watch which tube goes where. now turn the heater upside down. there are 6 screws on the side and 1 in the middle. remove them carefully. the 6 on the side have a small gaskets under them..you don't want to lose them. the 1 in the middle has no gasket, now the bottom plate of the heater can be taken off (there is a gasket with that plate ...be careful . you will now see the long channels inside the heater and need to clean it. the holes where the tubes where connected have to be clean also but carefully. the metal is soft.so it bends. now put it all back. hope this helps. if you want to keep this from happening.the best way is to run clear water after you are done.this will remove any soap in the machine which will harden after the machine drys out. hope I helped .

and to mr. reddevil6 I am learning lots from you. Thanks

SOURCE: bissell carpet shampooer

Dear Sir/Madam,

- Remove the tool from the end of the hose and see if the hose will spray. If there is spray with the tool removed, the tool is clogged. Clean out the spray tip of the tool with a safety pin or paper clip.
- Stretch the hose out and give it a few light tugs to release any kinks in the internal water supply hose.

If there is still no spray through the hose, please take your machine to a local BISSELL Authorized Service Center. To locate your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center, please go to www.bissell.com under the Customer Center tab near the top of the homepage. Enter your zip code in the Service Center box on the right of the page to perform your search.

Thanks
Good luck

SOURCE: Bissell Proheat Pro-Tech #7901 will not spray any liquid to the carpet and red cross indicator is not turning, but comes out of attactments

Thanks to many others who have posted on similar problems -- water and/or solution sprays through the handheld tools, but not through the main machine.

As others have suggested, I removed the water reservoir, which exposes the 2 main water sprays mounted above the rollers. Using, pliers, I carefully slid the clips back. Gently but firmly removed the two red nozzles.

Elsewhere I have read suggestions to just do one nozzle at a time. However, I found out that if you remove both red nozzles, you can then blow through one side and it will come out the other. In my case, that dislodged a nice collection of crystal-like chunks (guessing it may be crystallized residue from the cleaning solution).

There was also a bit of blockage in one of the red nozzles, which I cleaned out. Make sure you can blow through both of them with little resistance.

Reassemble: Push red nozzles back into hoses. Using pliers, reposition sprung clip back over the red nozzle. Snap nozzles back into place. Refill tanks and power it up.

In my case, that resolved the problem of no sprays from the main machine. Sprays like new now. Hope yours does too!!

The bissell proheat is leaving too much water on the carpet

Sounds as though the machine needs a good clean before using again. Remove all the dirt, grease and hair from the transparent areas by removing the covers and then reassembling. Also this can be caused by running the cleaner too fast across the carpet.
