Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

No sound is coming through my onkyo receiver. I have had no problems with this unit as I have had it for four years. The universal remote turns on the receiver and tv and the picture comes through just fine, but no sound. When I turn the volume up, the control shows that it is turning up, however no sound is coming through. There is also no sound when I put it to the tuner or when I try the DVD player and wii. Could it be on the wrong settings? I am not sure if the kids bumped the remote and it put it to a different setting or what. Any ideas?

Please try to manifactory setting first. for most ONKYO receiver, hold "VCR/DVR" button, press STBY, after unit power on.

Success! I've had the problem for a few months - moved unit to another room - got sound to work sometimes - random - never knew how to reset to original manufacture settings - researched a lot of places but never found an answer - thanks so much! My unit required me to press the video 1 and standby button - its working great now!

Onkyo Codes for Samsung remotes?

Hi, unfortunately this remote does not have the ability to program to your Onkyo receiver. You must use your original Onkyo remote to control the volume of it. If you need a new Onkyo remote you can purchase one from Replacement Remotes. You can also buy a universal remote to program and work for both your units, so you will not have to keep switching back in forth between remotes. If you would like a universal I suggest getting the RFS200, this remote will even work if your receiver is not in direct line of site.

Cant find universal remote code for the onkyo tx-sr605

Your onkyo receiver and remote controller only decodes 4 digit codes so what you have to do is to call the manufacturer of the remote controller it self and ask for the hexa decimal codes for their remote. They should provide it to you coz they're the ones responsible on doing that.

Player can be made to work without remote. But it is a pain.
You need to press pause then play in the right combination.and you can get both DVDs and Blu Ray disks to work. I bought a store floor model that did not have a remote. I went through the same problem when I would lose the remote for the HD-DVD player. My four year old daughter knows this trick pause pause play for DVDs and pause play pause play for blu
