I sent two more emails the same day as the first.I did switch the hoses at which time no water would come out when called, yes the water valves were turned on.I then switched the hoses back to the correct position at which time it acted up again, hot coming out when called for cold and cold coming out when called for hot.

Switch the hoses at the faucets and see if it makes a difference.

This is bobby 267.I still have not heard back from my two questions from 14 days ago.

Hi Bobby - this is the first I've heard back from you since I made the above suggestion.

Maybe something has changed with the water temperture selector in the machine over the years - switch the hoses at the facuts and see if it makes a difference.

I sent two more emails the same day as the first.I tried switching the hoses at the faucet at which time no water would come out hot or cold, yes the water valves were turned on.I then switched them back to proper positions at which time it went back to incorrect. When calling for cold, hot would come out and when calling for hot, cold will come out and during rinse it is luck of the draw what temperature water comes out.The machine is not that old of a unit.

Shower temperature fluctuating and will not stabilise

You haven't provided much information to help narrow down the source of the problem.

Is the flow of both hot and cold water flowing freely? Are the water lines not clogged internally with corrosion or residue? Is it possible that the water is being diverted such as in an apartment building or to an outside spigot (sprinkler system) or kitchen faucets (dishwasher)?
Is your water heater temperature setting correct and is it supplying sufficient hot water flow to the shower?
Do you have a temperature balance cartridge in your shower faucet? If yes, it could possibly be faulty.

I set the water temp setting to cold, but it keeps filling with hot water. No matter where I set the dial, it fills with hot water.

check whether the hoses are mismarked when they come out of the wall.
the same thing kept happening to us (whirlpool cabrio) and i checked the temperature on the hoses coming out of the wall - cold was mislabeled as hot by the builder, and vice versa.

My thermostatic concealed shower valve only gives either boiling hot water or cold water, there is no inbetween temperature? the cold is fed from mains and the hot from a combi boiler. the plumber has said...

Hi,

If the hot and cold are fitted the wrong way round then the thermostat on the shower unit cannot operate properly!

Most thermostatic mixer showers have a 'bi-metallic' thermostat, if you supply the hot to the cold and vice versa IT WILL NOT WORK.

It is like wearing the left shoe on the right foot and the right on the left! It doesn't work.

Re-install the hot and cold to the correct supply, and this will sort it.

I hope this helps.

FP Hot water used when cold selected

YOU NEED TO CHECK THE WATER TEMPERATURE AFTER THE TUB IS FILLED WITH WATER WHEN COLD IS SELECTED. NEW MACHINES WILL USE BOTH THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES TO FILL THE MACHINE. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU WASHING WITH STRICTLY COLD WATER AS THE DETERGENT WILL NOT PROPERLY DISOLVE. COLD WASH TEMP SHOULD AVERAGE 65-70 DEGREES.

Triton T90si electric shower temperature stuck on hot.

It sounds as though the valve is not closing and opening properly. I would have a proffesional come out to have a look. I could also be the control board not working correctly or a combination of both.

Water temperature problem

Chief Walley, you have a temperature control board that sits right behind the timer. A thermistor senses the water and sends the info to this board. The thermistor sits at the water injector. The board may be your problem, I have seen many like this. Keep in mind that the target temp for cold is 75 degrees. If your incomming water is higher than this, you are going to get a warm fill, which they think is cold. Without being there, I would go after the board. Catriver...post back.
