Question about KitchenAid Food Mixers

I bought a kitchenaid 5KPM50 from cs catering last june. It went wrong and had to be returned to factory - they will not give a replacement or loan. it has now gone wrong again. they say my consumer rights do not stand as it is a 'business to business' transaction! help!

This is a problem since you told them you were a business, they typically don't warranty products for the same amount of time for business, because they assume you are using it all day every day. If you buy the professional model you won't have this problem, but you will also pay a lot more money for it. One suggestion is to take it back the store where you bought it, they may have more influence on the manufacturer than you can. its worth a try anyway

If the mixer is brand new then it will be covered under a manufactures warranty. All of KitchenAid products include a one year warranty.
If you are outside the one year warranty you can either send the mixer to kitchenaid and pay for the repair, or you can fix it yourself.
The first place to start will be to take the mixer apart and find out what gears are stripped within the mixer.

First what is the problem, second call KA customer service and ask for the commercial division, they are very helpful even if the machine is out of warranty, the commercial division caters to those machine but it has to be a commercial mixer as your is. Please get back to us as we can't help without knowing the problem

Ksm95 won't power on


Most have internal relays that can only be replaced by opening the unit. Unless you are experienced technician, I suggest a local repair or fix shop. Kitchen Aid will also repair the unit if you ship it back to their factory with return postage. If the warranty is out, the cost for repair, shipping, could exceed the cost of replacement. Otherwise you will void the warranty. This unit comes witha 1 year hassle free replacement warranty. This is their warranty statement:

"KitchenAid is so confident about the quality of our products that if your appliance should fail within the first year of ownership, we will deliver an identical or comparable replacement to your door free of charge. We will also arrange to have your failed appliance returned to us. Your replacement is covered by our one-year full warranty as well. KitchenAid offers this Hassle-Free Replacement Policy to the purchaser for one full year from the date of purchase. We may require a dated receipt to verify the purchase date"

KitchenAid customer service is always very helpful and you can call them at 1-800-541-6390, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. EST, Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, for anything about your Artisan series stand mixer (or any other KitchenAid appliances you may have) They will help you with questions on how to use and care for it, what to do if you encounter problems and even recipes.

My brand new KitchenAid Food Processor 5KPM50 doesnt start


If it indeed is brand new call Kitchenaid and tell them about it. They will ask for the serial number which is underneath the mixer. If it is less than one year old they will send you a new one. 800-422-1230

Make sure that the outlet you are using is good by plugging something else into it!!
