Is this electric or gas dryer??? big difference in how to proceed. the cost of a replacement part and time, etc. still may be high compared to the alternative of checking out your local habitat for humanity "restore" (find locations online) they have gently used washers, dryers (50-75 bucks) and so much more at all at a fraction of the cost... you can't get a service man out for the prices they charge... typically they warrant that the unit works or bring it back for replacement.
Best regards
Ck

Dryer does not heat correctly code F31

The thermostat which is a round 2 wire control on the blower box on the back of the dryer controls the heat on all dryers. always shut off power when checking any electrical appliance. Clothes dryers are wired with 2 voltages, The 240 volt supply is for the heating element only, while the 120 volt supply gives power to the timer and motor that spins the drum and powers any lights and switches. If the heating element is coming on, try replacing the thermostat. As always unplug the dryer first.

Frigidaire dryer displaying code E4A, clothes are not drying

Hello - Typically it indicates a faulty issue with the timeout program. Contact a professional to move forward accurately. Technician will check for anything that would cause extend dry times such as: no heat, restricted vent, blower fan blade broken or loose, dryer installed in closet with solid door, bad connection in moisture sensor bar circuit or dirty bars. If dryer operates normally after it has be diagnose and code returns, the main control will possibly need replacing.

Electric dryer heats up and blows air but doesnt dry my clothes

I would check to see that the lint/filter isn't completely clogged up. This could make the dryer warm without allowing it to do its job of drying the clothes.
Also, is the drum spinning? If not, it could be indicative of other problems.

Whirlpool dryer is not drying properly. Have to go through a couple of cycles to dry clothes.

2 things are needed to dry clothes. 1 is good air flow. Check to make sure that the dryer vent is not clogged or partially clogged with lint. Also make sure there are no kinks in the vent hose. With the dryer running you should feel good air flow blowing out of the outside house vent. The 2nd thing a dryer needs heat. Check to see that the dryer feels warm to hot when you reach in to tough the clothes. It is possible that the heat element has partially failed. Another thing to investigate is how well the laundry machine is spinning out the water in the spin cycle. This spin cycle is used to get as much water out as possible prior to placing the clothes in the dryer. The wetter the clothes when they come out of the laundry, the longer it takes to dry them.

Wdl540 clothes go through drying cycle but come

If there is no heat at all then the heater or the temp sensor or the thermal fuses are defective and need replacing.

Also check that the lint filter is clear of debris and lint. Rinse it if necessary in some mild washing up liquid in warm water and dry thoroughly. Check that the air outlet hose is clear if you have one fitted. Check that the condenser is empty of water and the case is free from dust and lint. Vacuum / brush or wash the outside of the collector in washing up liquid and warm water and dry.

No heat, will turn on and spin with cool air only. does not dry clothes.

Okay, let me try to solve this with three possible solutions:
EASY AND CHEAP: Check the hose, the lint filter and the vent for obstructions. If the air is not getting out then the safety switch in the dryer will tell the element not to heat up. Without this safety switch the dryer becomes a fire hazard (and that's a whole other FixYa problem!). Make sure the hose is not crimped or clogged and that the outside vent is opening properly.
HARDER AND MORE EXPENSIVE: The heating element may be burned out or have a loose connection. This is a little bit harder fix but can be done without consulting a repairperson. However, if you have little or no experience then don't try that at home.
EASY BUT MOST EXPENSIVE: Buy a new dryer. If you do, see if the company you buy it from will take a trade in. If not, call a small appliance repair shop and see if they would like to buy your machine to repair and resell. This might offset some of the cost of the new dryer.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
