Hi my scanner is not working and my computer is a hp how do i fix it please

Make Sure Scanner is powered up and connected via USB

Connect scanner to a different USB port in your PC.

If it prompts to install driver, reinstall it with the provided drivers.

Go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers & see if you can detect Lexmark scanner there.

If still not, you can try out a different OS or a laptop just to make sure that scanner is working properly.Post results if you tried this option.

Hi ,
Make sure driver is correctly installed . If not , go to device manager and delete driver . Now disconnect scanner and go to Control pannel to delete HP precisionScan Pro .
Reboot .
Do not connect scanner . Re install PrecisionScan Pro . Reboot and wait for Windows to be settled .
Connect scanner and wait for confirmation of successfull installation of driver .
If you are under W7 , PrecisionScan Pro will no more run .

Printer works scanner does not


Hi there,
  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.
Scanner:

HP PSC 1510 printer driver won't work the scanner.

what is the operating system of your computer?

is the printer connected directly to the computer or is it connected to a printserver?

to have this issue resolved, please click on the link below, select your operating system and download whole driver package, this is about 300mb but this will make sure your scanner will work.

Do the following:
  1. Unplug the scanner's USB
  2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties
  3. In the Hardware tab, click on Device Manager
  4. Under Camera's and Scanners remove any HP scanner items that exist already (right-click and delete)
  5. Restart the computer
  6. Install the latest drivers for the scanner from the HP site (don't go anywhere else)
  7. Plug in the scanner
If this does not work, try plugging the scanner into a different USB port and see if it gets detected.

(start, all programs, HP) in "Hp" don't have Hp director!) where can find it?

Hi Simoandson, The scanner failure message usually occures when the scanner bulb is not getting heated properly or the scanner bulb is defective. We can check with the issue by connecting the printer direcly to wall outlet and then lift the scanner lid and press scan or copy button and check for the scanner bulb is lit and scanner machinisum is moving fine under the scanner bed..
