KitchenAid Model KEBS208DWH8 ... double convection oven ... the top oven, bottom element seems to stay on ... if the oven door is left closed the oven will warm to around 200 degrees F.

CoolGuy008 ... can I replace the electronic control on my own ... I am very handy with replacing electronic parts (like computer chips) ... what part is likely at fault.

All the answers were incorrect for this problem. The oven has a "Sabbath" mode which will stay on even if the unit is power failed. Somehow, the Sabbath mode was enabled, causing the oven to heat at a constant temperature. Replacing the microprocessor inside the machine would have been a waste of money.

Dear sir/madam,

i think the Gear box is broken. The Gear box has two modes, when the motor runs one way it, operates on "agitate" mode where the agetator is moved back and forth. When it runs other way it the entrie drum spins and some hoe safety breaks get engaged when it catches up speed. Then the motor get over heated and there is a safety overheat/load switch in the motor that shuts off the power to the entire machine. So I have yet to figure out why the breaks get engaged.

Thanks
good luck

There is relay problem in the oven which is not shutting the unit off ,you need to replace the unit...
The control board (called a Central Control Unit, CCU) on your model . You can find this part at repairclinic.com.

Good luck....

You can turn the breaker off and allow it to cool down for few hours.

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

In your model i believe it is the MCB(Microcomputer control board)which costs $280.See i strongly recommend you to call the tech and get it done.IT is also difficult to get the service manual online.

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

    Yes,that's the part..

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

Did you find a service manual for that?

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

I strongly recommend you to contact repairclinic once and confirm if that's the part because in most of kitchen aid oven it is the CCU.Just call them once.

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

Do not buy it right now please give them a call once and confirm if that's the right one.I believe it is the right one but still just confirm with them once.

  • Priya darshan Aug 01, 2008

And please do not even attempt to repair it without a service manual. If you don't get the manual then a repair tech is highly recommended.

I need a oven bulb lens for my Kitchenaid Superba. I think my model is 9752834A. I need two of them. The one is have has B-1 on it.

Unfortunately, 9752834A is not a model number for the KitchenAid Superba. Usually the model number will have 4-5 letters, 3 numbers, 2-3 more letters and then a final number. Look inside the oven door for a plaque with the model number. With the correct model information, you can see if the lens cover is available.

Next, Kitchenaid ovens either have a rectangular (for models that use halogen bulbs) or circular (for models that use an incandescent bulb) lens cover. I've found three lens covers for Kitchenaid products at RepairClinic.com: http://www.repairclinic.com/Shop-For-Parts/a13b121c48/Kitchenaid-Range-Stove-Oven-Lighting-Light-Bulb-Parts . Check if http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b121p13/Kitchenaid-Range-Stove-Oven-Light-Lens/9781049/748782?ss=a13b121c48&mr=0, http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b121p13/Kitchenaid-Range-Stove-Oven-Light-Lens/4452163/589998?ss=a13b121c48&mr=0 or http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b121p13/Kitchenaid-Range-Stove-Oven-Light-Lens/4375318/584498?ss=a13b121c48&mr=0 look like your model. RepairClinic.com does not have the model numbers. However, Appliance Parts Pros list most of the same parts and has a model number compatibility checker, http://www.appliancepartspros.com .

I hope this helps.

Just purchased a KitchenAid KGRI801PBS00 and oven will not turn on, also not a high flame coming from burners? Oven fan will turn on, however it will not heat?

If you purchased this used you may the previous owner may have used the self cleaning feature and thus thethermal fuse is now blown, a known issue with Kitchen Aid ovens apparently.
The good news is that the fuse is a part that you can purchase online and replace yourself

Hi,I have a kitchenaid gas stove and the oven does notwant to heat up. I have it on now for 20min,just barely warm.Any suggestions?

Most likely a bad glow bar ignitor at the oven valve. It must read 3 amps or more to activate the gas valve. Turn the gas off,put a clamp on amp meter on the ignitor wire and turn the oven on. If it reads less than 3 amps, replace the ignitor.

The Oven light wont turn off!

The button that depresses when the oven door is closed is probably stuck in the (IN) POSITION. spray some WD 40 on the switch if you can find it. It should be somewhere around the door jam..

Can't turn oven off

Over the 2008 Hoildays while baking, our Kitchenaid range (KGSA906PSS) "off" button would not turn off the gas oven portion of the range. The two ways we could turn off the oven was to either set a "stop cooking" timer for one minute or to go the main electical breaker box and cut off the electricity to the the range - either way- not a good way. We called Kitchenaid Customer Service at 1-800-334-6889 and stated the problem. We were concerned that this was a safety issue since we could not turn off our gas oven without resorting to the timer or breaker methods. The warranty for the electronics touchpad is from 2-5 years according to our owners manual. We have had the range since Aug. 2005.

We provided our model #, serial#, date of purchase and answered some other questions. Kitchenaid did determine this to be a safety issue and in doing so, our replacement part and labor will be provided free of charge.

Even if your warranty has expired, I would still call Kitchenaid first since this is a safety issue.
