Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

I have a Goodmans Microwave ME20W in perfect order except someone has misused it and the paint under the rotating plate is blistered causing the oven to crackle in use. There is also one small area of corrosion in a corner. Are these repairable?

Yes they can be cleaned. prepared and painted with enamel paint.
The reason the paint comes off is usually due to condensation as the oven is left with the door closed after use.

Paint inside microwave is chipped and blistered. How do you fix it?

HI,
If you are able to spent money for a new Microwave then go for a new one.
If you are interested to repair and reuse the existing Microwave then keep on thing in mind, if you paint it then also it will not lasts for a long time as the metal underneath is rusted.

Inside of microwave top peeling and blistering

If it's paint peeling, then once that paint is gone, rust will set in, which can cause arcing and disintegration of the chassis, when ruins the oven.

This peeling is usually the result of excess moisture accumulating in the oven due to blocked air vents or poor fan circulation.

Once those two issues have been ruled out or dealt with, then always be sure to dry out or leave the microwave open after use.

The peeling paint will need to be removed, then the area should be sanded.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

The top of the oven (inside) has blistered and the rollers are marking the base. Also the oven is making a noise as the plate rotates.

If the oven is working with good heat all you need is to have the machine serviced. the ceramic coating of paint on the inside of the microwave must have corroded and so the blisters can happen. Due to this the smooth surface within is lost and so the roller make a higher noise.
Take the micro wave and clean and scrap off all blisters before a good coat of ceramic/nonmetalic paint is used.

I have a samsung microwave. Some of the paint is chipping off (under the revolving plate) and there are some scorch marks on the sides. I have heard of being able to touch up with microwave safe paint. ...

This is a special white enamel paint that is very hard to find, I don't have any personally but the manufacture use to supply the paint to people like myself to do touch up repairs. The only thing I can suggest is hound Samsung for the microwave paint because the magnetron will eventually short out making the oven useless.

Kenmore microwave inside chipping, is this a

Only your microwave's health. *grin* Seriously, it can begin arcing and damage the oven, possibly ruining it.

You'll need to strip the old paint away, sand the area smooth, then clean and dry it thoroughly.

Then you can apply high temperature appliance paint available at hardware stores, home centers, and places like Wal-Mart.

After that, be sure to avoid spills and wipe out the oven any time there is heavy steam.

Non-Stick surface peeling off inside microwave.

Normally you can strip and sand the old paint, get it squeaky clean, and use appliance paint. Yes indeed it is a heat-resistant enamel. You can get it from appliance parts stores, Wal-Mart, or home centers, etc. BUT if it's under warranty I would call GE Customer Relations with your model and serial numbers. They're at 1-800-386-1215 (8-6 ET) and I would also suggest you ask them for a referral to a GE-authorized servide center in your area. Good luck. I appreciate your thoughtful rating of this answer.
