Question about Mitsubishi WS-55511 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I had to turn the main breaker to my house off to do some repair. When I turned the breaker on, the power light was blinking like it normally does. However, I have not been able to power on the TV. What is the procedure for this.

You are the victim of 4 leaky capacitors on the DM assembly, that's the vertical board all the way to the left looking from the rear of the unit. Replacement of the 4 capacitors (1000mf @ 25v, 105 degree) will restore the TV. As always, at plug-in the TV will blink for up to 70 seconds during the boot-up sequence so make sure to allow for this time. Good luck!

Dr Mercola Pure & Clear air purifier model# PC_AP2000. Unit stopped working, will not turn on. Cannot find a fuse in this unit. All else is in perfect working order. Thank you for your help.

The unit would be fused through the circuit breaker it gets power from in the main box of the house or in some cases a sub box to the main house circuit breaker box. If it is tripping the breaker something is seriously wrong and to reset over and over causes a fire risk, call a repair person.

Where is the breaker to the oven is it a certain breaker that controls the oven or s it the breaker controls the house like the lights and the TV and the main things that controls the house

The breaker for the over is normally in the main house fuse panel. Be very careful when working on any electrical feed for your oven, that is normally a 240v outlet.

You can but why not get a new breaker first. Once into the panel and you're done.

On base board heater how do you know when its off

Depending on what you are trying to achieve.

A) Normal operation, and unit shuts off due to reaching its setpoint. On some heaters there is an indicator light that turns on when the thermostatic switch turns the element on.
B) Maintenance mode, to shut off power before servicing. Turn off circuit breaker or fuse at house fuse panel or Breaker box. Check with an electric meter(Volt Meter) that the elements are not live. (Should be 0 volts across mains).

To replace a ceiling light with another, can one just turn off all the power coming to the house, and rewire the new light, matching the wires?? Few electricians want to come to the house for such a...

Turning off the circuit breaker to the circuit is sufficient, but if you feel better turning off the main, do it. Just turn the light ON then turn off one (single pole) circuit breaker at a time until the light goes out. Then, like you said, just match the wires.

I would be inclined to think the main breaker is almost worn out and needs replaced very soon.If it's taking out the main instead of individual breakers I would get a good electrician on it right quick. Good luck and thank you.

All radioes in my home have a loud buzz. started buzzing two days ago. have not plugged in anything different.

I assume this is on AM as FM would typically not do this.

You have a noise generator interfering someplace. I suggest you use a battery operated radio and tune to the buzzing.

Then turn off your main breaker to your house. If the buzzing remains, the problem is external to your house. It MIGHT be a bad insulator on a power pole. See if your electric company will investigate this.

IF the noise totally went away when you killed the power to your house, turn off ALL the breakers then turn on the main and one by one turn the brealers on till the buzzing returns. When it does, analyze what is on that breaker.

Some common in house sources: Bad door bell transformer, ionizer or electrostaic air cleaner, flourescent lights and CFL bulbs, Bad connections in wiring (very dangerous), switching power supplies and "wall wart" adapters to name a few.
