If it works in your friends infinity then it is the power connection on the lexus, check the fuse isnt blown in the fusebox. To make sure it is the power connection on the car try plugging something else into it to see if that charges, if it doesnt then that is where your problem lies

I don't know what year vehicle or model you have, but 2002-2005 trucks and suv have a problem with the speedometer cluster going bad. I believe it won't affect your driving. my friend has replace several of these himself for around 175, but the dealer will charge around 500.
he said there are only 4 screws holding it on and it took about 5 minutes to change.

hope this helps

HOW TO CHOOSE AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP

mcdevito75 here, Ever since the invention of the AUTOMOBILE, repair shops have been competing for your BUISNESS, whether it"s a SECIALTY SHOP designed on a specific part of the AUTOMOBILE or the GENERAL REPAIR SHOP designed for your AUTO"s all around needs, CHOOSEING one of these REPAIR SHOPs to SERVICE your AUTO takes a liitle work, as the saying goes, IT"s NOT WHAT YOU KNOW,------ IT"S WHO YOU KNOW. ------ This is especially true when it comes to your CAR / SUV, up-keep and service, even if you do all, your own work, you still need an AUTO REPAIR SHOP IN YOUR AREA for STATE INSPECTION, OIL CHANGES, (you need a shop to recycle your old oil) WORK THAT REQUIRES SPECIAL TOOLS AND ABOVE ALL FOR "EMERGENCIES". ----- Here"s HOW TO CHOOSE AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP FOR YOUR CARs / SUVs SERVICEING NEEDS. ------- Look for a 1--2 or 3 man Auto Repair Shop not too far from where you live, (walking distance, in case you have to leave your car / suv) I find these smaller auto repair shops just as friendly, and knowledgeable as the larger, auto repair shop chains and with a HUGE differece, ----- They could "CHARGE LESS MONEY". ----- Shop your area, stop in and say hello, (when they don"t seem to be too busy) ask a question about your CAR / SUV that you know thw answer to, ask for a baseball park figure on a specific repair job, (Front Brakes, Standard Tune up etc.) look for them to be FRIENDLY and HELPFULL, compare prices of a few repair shops in your area, ----- One sure sign of a GOOD SMALLER AUTO REPAIR SHOP, is their ability to do your STATES ANNUAL INSPECTION, It shows this smaller repair shop is Licenced and established, you"ll have your CAR / SUV serviced by PRO"s and you"ll SAVE MONEY TO BOOT.

Don't have a manual. Charging in electrical outlet at home and don;t know how long to charge for. Plug in shows a red and green lite, both on and I have been charging for over 4 hours. Comments

Most garmin nuvi satnavs take 4 hours to charge with a mains charger or a car charger. It takes 8 hours with a computer. There's a batter indicator on the screen that shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP. It will probably only appear when the charger is disconnected if it's the same as other garmin nuvis.

You can get the manual in Adobe Reader format from http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/nuvi680_OwnersManual.pdf

I don't know how to register my new Garmin nuvi so we can receive the free map updates when our machine is turned on

If the unit is new you get a free map update within the first few months after that they will charge a fee, but you can still update the unit for software and fixes.
Here is what you need to do to update the map your Garmi nuvi; first make sure the unit is fully charged, then go to the Garmin web site and register your product. Next download Garmin Updater and connect your nuvi with a USB cable directly to your computer and not thru a USB hub. Let the update go directly to the GPS and not a folder. It will take a few hours even with a fast internet connection. When done follow the instructions on your screen. I have attached a link to the Garmin site. Thanks for using FixYa

2003 Lexus LX 470 I have replaced upper and lower control arms driver side and all four sway link now the SUV acting up strange with the height control system its on low and not going on a normal setting...

Try turning your air system off and jack up the SUV. move the control arms around, then up and down the best you can. Let the SUV down on the ground, take a look to see how level the SUV sits . It should reset itself when you turn back on the air supply system. If not, you may have punctured or damaged one or both of the airbags if you lifted the SUV without turning the air off first. You may get lucky, but remember to shut off air supply if you have bags for suspension in the furture.

? to Replace Timing belt on 2000 Lexus Rx300 with 57,000 miles.

If it is running perfectly I wouldn't think that you would need to replace the timing belt. You shouldn't need to replace that until 100,000-120,000 miles. I would definitely hold off until now unless you have start having some timing problems. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Lexus RX 300 suv

i understand why you want to do it yourself - it's expensive to have it done by a mechanic. that's because it's a major job to remove the engine, takes 4-5 hrs. i avoided having it done by having an honest mechanic i've been going to for a long time do something else (sorry, i don't know what) that fixed the problem temporarily. he told me it must be done after 90k miles or so, so i'm saving up.

Internal battery won't charge

Common issue. Steps to troubleshoot/solve:
1. Pull off face, press reset tab.
2. If unit wont turn on or if turns off immediately, connect to home computer using mini usb on side of gps (any usb cord that fits will do). This will charge the internal gps battery, which is discharged.
3. You will not be able to see the gps charge indicator while the usb cord is plugged into the unit. To check charge level, disconnect it, turn it on, and note the large "battery" icon.
4 Do you have a dead internal battery? If the gps holds a charge from your computer usb port, you don't.
5. If you have a dead battery, Google DIY replacement. With some soldering it can done for $15 total.
6. If you don't have a dead battery, the issue is charging from the cigarette lighter socket. Your car socket may have blown a fuse (check car manual). Your charger unit may have blown a fuse (unscrew the tip, check fuse inside). Also, some car sockets don't work when the ignition is off. Test yours.
7. There is a good chance the connection of the charger wire to the gps cradle is the problem. Fiddle with that. Replacement cradles are available for the c340 at about $25.
8. If your unit is not charging from the cradle/socket, buy a 12v usb cord. Plug into socket and into usb port of the gps. This is a workaround or alternative to buying a new cradle.
9. IMPORTANT: observe the "battery" icon while driving, esp. if you have doubts about charging. Basically, if you can see the icon, you're not connected to an outside (car or computer) power source. That is, if you can see the battery-charge indication, it means your battery is currently discharging and unless you get another power source to work it will be dead in a few hours.
