Im sorry, try control panel, mouse, mouse properties. Then go to pointers, scheme. Then select none. This should stop the sound.I dont know if you loaded the mouse software that came with it.But this should override.

Thanks for your further suggestion for my mouse problem. I have tried your suggestion but still have clicking sound. the sound is directly from the mouse not from my speakers. I don't know if that makes a difference to me trying to silence the mouse. many thanks for trying to help me. maybe ear plugs are my next best thing. :)

Oh...The mouse itsself? No i do not know how to stop that.Im guessing there is a clicker inside that needs to be taken out.Problem is it will probably break the mouse.

How can I disable the trackpad to only use an external mouse? Toshiba laptop (Satellite)

For most Toshiba laptops, you should be able to hit FN+F9, and it will disable the touch pad. If that doesn't work, go to your Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Mouse, and disable it there. Hope this helps!

I can not disable touchpad of INSPIRON 1545 of DELL Computers There is no option for disabling touch pad in the MOUSE option of Control Panel

Go to the Control Panel. Under the 'Hardware and Sound' options, click 'Mouse'immortal4u.png

Since you have a Dell laptop, you'll have a special tab called 'Dell touchpad' in the window that pops up. Click on the touchpad picture in the window.

In the new window that appears, click 'Device Select'

Click on the 'Disable' radio button to disable the touchpad completely. If you want to disable the touchpad of your Dell laptop only when an external device like a mouse is attached, check the last option that says 'Disable Touchpad/Pointing Stick when external USB mouse is present'

That's it. You've disabled your laptop's touchpad for good. If you don't find an option to manage your touchpad in Mouse settings, you have to install Synaptics drivers from here. Similar options can be found in other laptops as well.

Good luck ! if your problem is solved don't forget to rate

Be sure to (Click) on the Apply button, click OK. You may need to Update Drivers. Click on Hardware, select Properties, click, on Driver. If the, Update Driver (block) is not Grayed-out select to Update Driver2_bing.gif, click (OK), this will ensure that the application take effect. How do I disable double-click on an HP Pavilion dv4 touchpad?

Hi there Dublin. I recently bought a HP laptop myself, and I believe I can help your situation, or at least I hope I can. Here's what you do: Access your Control Panel>Click Mouse>Click Device Settings>Click Settings> Click Tapping> Click Disable Tapping. That should do the trick. You are not disabling your touch-pad, just the double-clicking that is associated with it. Drove me nuts for about a day, 'til I figured it out..Hope it worked for your notebook.
