You must switch the voltage option to match the mains voltage in your area.
If you have 220 or 240 AC volts mains voltage in your area and you have set the switch on your monitor speaker to 100-120 volts and then connect it to the mains supply then you have destroyed your speaker.

Did you just use adapters or actual step-down transformers?
A lot of equipment today is 110/220 auto-switching, but if you get something built for 110V (120V, 100V, markings may vary) only, then you need more than an adapter, you need a transformer!

Can you buy an plug for this modle to pluge in at home.

European Players use 220-240V (50hz) while american ones use 110-115V 60hz
You need a step up VAC source.
Alternatively most (ie LG, Daewoo, Goodman etc) use a vatiable PSU. ie 100-250V which means you can plug it in direct. Just check the markings on your player.
Also keep in mind Uk, EU Africa use PAL, while the USA use NTSC. make sure your TV can display PAL too.

How do I slow the speed of the 45s on my rowe r-92 jukebox .The records are playing a little too fast

Hi,

The turntable motor on the jukebox range of R-84 to R-93 is none adjustable.
If you are in the USA then the motor operates on 60hz but in Europe it would have to be on 50hz to do this a different pulley is used.

The Rowe Ami part numbers are as followes:-

30791907 Turntable Motor Assembly 60hz
30791908 Turntable Motor Assembly 50hz
21817801 Motor Pulley 60hz
21817802 Motor Pulley 50hz

These can be ordered from a Rowe Ami dealer or you could try www.victoryglass.com

Covert 230V 50Hz to 230V 60Hz

To convert to 50Hz will be expensive as the Aircon needs alot of startup power. You could ask maker if 50Hz will be ok, usually motor will run slower so unit will be less efficient, alway check with maker. Or try supplier to see if they will exchange for what you ordered first.

US portastudio 2488: Can it play when connected with a transformer

The 2488mkII manual specifies that the unit can operate with either 120VAC, 60Hz (USA/Canada), 230VAC, 50Hz (U.K./Europe), 240VAC, 50Hz (Australia) so you should be fine with a transformer which can accomodate 230VAC, 50Hz).

I have actually conversed with people who have been using the 2488 in France without any power problems.

Cheers,

bd.
