Best case is your os files corrupted, in that case you can try reinstalling your OS. If that does not work then there may be some hardware issue, it'll best if take it to support center.

    shut down the computer first

power it on and as soon as u power it, tap F12 key on your keyboard

this will take to the BIOS and in that do a HDD test and check for any error message..

if you get any error message then its gonna be a hard drive issue... if you dont then its OS file corrupted issue.... now u know what u wanna do...

My Dell Inspiron Mini 10v comes on. It asks if I want to start in safe mode or last known configuration and after I click on either, the screen goes blue and gives me an error message with the following...

Yup go to safe mode, and choose system restore... follow instructions and select a time prior to when you had a problem. finish off and your PC should be all working again. Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems there may only be one or two to choose from. just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you.

This problem is because of one of the unsuitable driver. Logon to your system in safe mode and update drivers for all the hardware and restart.
Hint: keep pressing F8 while booting to show other booting options from where you can select safe mode.

Blue Screen Error Message

Looks like you've been getting two different Stop errors...

The 1st error, 0X00000024, aka Stop 0x24, is a Windows 2000 error. (XP is just an updated version of 2000) Microsoft gives an explanation here.

For the 2nd error, starting with 0x000000ED, Microsoft's solution is here, with additional help here.

Screen goes blank soon after switching on

Try "Safe Mode" (holding F8 key on boot and selecting "Save Mode"), then run diagnostics and an up to date (virus definitions) Anti-Virus full scan.
If Safe Mode is not accessible then you may want to consider a format and clean install by booting to your Windows (?) CD.
