Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
It is possible that the PS3's laser is wearing. Test the unit with a regular music CD, if it can read CD's fine then you know the laser is degrading.
This is fixable by adjusting the pointometer inside of the drive but would require an engineer or skill person to do so.
If a CD IS NOT working also, then there are many faults it could be (software, laser, motor). - And it would probably be cheaper to replace the PS3.
