I had it on for about 2 months and always had it charged and it was always on. a couple days ago, it died. i brought it how and charged it and tryed to turn it on but nothing. the phone reacted to me touching all the other buttons BUT the power button. please help ASAP. thank you.
You should have recalibrate your battery, and to do that what you should do is when you first get a new battery, because that is probably what you will have to do, charge it to its full capacity and then use it until it dies completely. then charge it. you should do this at least once or twice a month to make sure that your battery is in top condition.

I think you have damaged your charging pin in the phone by mistake either by dropping the phone or while taking the cord out or inserting. I think the best way to get this fixed will be to go show it to the store that you bought it from/microsoft store. Hope this helps. All the best.
my phone is the same model and did this but when i charged it, after about an hour it would come up with 'charging error stop ' and when i unplugged it, it hadn't even charged at all. and then the other day it just wouldnt charge, i plugged it in, it said it was charging but it wasnt. in the end, it worked by keeping the phone switched off and charging it while i was turned off. so try that, if not then i really dont know sorry
Remember it's always important to take care of your device.. especially a mid-level device like the K550i. Sony Ericcson prides themselves in edgy techno-savvy devices but leave little room for accommodating ruggedness--they are delicate. You may be able to go to your wireless carrier and exchange or utilize a battery until your device arrives. If you have an older device you can put your SIM card in there and use that also until the old phone comes. There are self-charge batteries but they dont last days and you will have continually buy another one when the previous one dies. They only last 2-4 hours and can be purchased in the Wal-Mart electronics section. You have to make sure they make one for your model device. I hope this information helps you and good luck!! Rule of thumb: Always buy an extra battery! Have a great holiday!
I had this same problem a couple of months ago, battery appeared to be charging but got emptier and emptier, tried different chargers and no improvement etc.
Friend has same phone, used their battery in my phone which was charged and phone was working fine, meanwhile, charged my battery in their phone and it charged fine and then for 2 months no repeat of the problem...
then last week, it happened again, trouble is this time i'm on school holidays and can't use the friend's phone for another 3 weeks!
first fully discharge the battery then place it in a plastic container and put it on the freezer overnight, just make sure that no moisture will enter on the cointainer. after taking it out on the freezer let stay at room temperature for 5 minutes, then charge it. I always do this with my old batteries and it works well.
