hi there.
this is all i could find. Why my TouchPad is not working in laptop Acer?
Enable/disable your touchpad - Many systems allow you to turn the touchpad On or Off by pressing the FN and F7 keys at the same time. ... Reinstall touchpad drivers - Missing or incorrect drivers may cause your touchpad to not work properly. Check in device manager to make sure your touchpad is reporting properly.27 Oct 2014
go to start
go up to my computer and click to get into properties
click on device manager
scroll down to mouse and pointing devices
un install the touchpad
then restart the laptop
on re start windows should re install the touchpad to its default setting
which may correct it for you
if this has helped please let us know
so that we may be able to help others
many thanks
If the touchpad has gone bad there's not much you can do, unless it just happens to have a loose connection. You can try disassembling the keyboard to get access to the touchpad cable and verify it but to be honest, that's an unlikely scenario.
Can you plugin a usb mouse?
Or you could try an external touchpad like the Bamboo made by Wacom although that's a bit expensive. Again, it would need a usb connection though.
Hey in the control panel, go to the mouse, then look for the properties that have a PS/2 compatible mouse, you can change its settings there by sellecting other compatible mouse instead of PS/2, and also there is a settings or a check box that says the onboard mouse of your laptop will be disable if a usb mouse will be pluged.hope it soved your problem, :)
control panel > device manager > scroll down to mice and pointing devices > if touchpad is listed (may be symantic or alps} highlight and click uninstall. Reboot the laptop, windows will be forced to reload the drivers when it recognizes the device. It may ask you if it can search windows update for a fresh driver, allow it to complete the install. reboot
