Question about Whirlpool AWM8103/1 Front Load Washer

Drum outlet hose assembly

On removal of the main hose from the bottom of the drum, a plastic ball and rubber cup fell out, these are definitely parts of the hose assembly, Can you please advise the correct assembly sequence or provide a schematic view or cross section drawing showing the correct assembly sequence of the main hose from the drum to the pump drain. Many thanks

I can't locate the filter on my wmd940a to clean it

You are NOT going to like this. To access the debris trap/filter on this machine, you need to tip it on its back. The trap is UNDERNEATH the drum. A rubber hose comes from the drum to a rubber trap bout the suze of a cup, then on to the pump.

The cup device is held in place by a spring clip that you will need to compress with pliers.

Once the trap is off, you will find a hard plastic cup with a ping pong ball inside. Remove the ball, remove the cup, clean out and re-assemble.

ont you love hotpoint for making this so user unfriendly!!

I wouold like to know where the filter is on the Hotpoint Aquariaus WF100

Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

MY Whirlpool AA1400 5145 I had remove bottom drain and there is some blocking then I don't know whow comes first the ball or the rubber. Regards, OA

Hi

I hope I understood your question properly.

When you take off the drum drain pipe, you have a plastic ball and plastic ring inside the cup shaped hose which fits on the bottom of the drum.

When putting it back on, first put the plastic ring inside the cup-shaped hose. Then put the plastic ball on top of it.

Secure the hose to the bottom of the drum with the metal clamp. Make sure it is on correctly and will not pull off.

Also make sure there are no kinks in the hose leading to your drain filter.

Start a quick cycle and monitor the machine to make sure there are no leaks.

Best Regards
Ash

WATER LEAKING FROM POWDER TRAY AND AROUND DOOR

There is a ball return valve that wants cleaning. Disconnect the appliance from water and mains. Turn machine on its side and look underneath. At the bottom of the white plastic drum you should see a black rubber hose about the size of a mug fastened by a hose clip. Remove hose clip and extract the hose from the drum and look inside. You should see a white plastic cone about the size of a paper cup with a plastic ball inside, remove and clean of any debris and replace. Be careful when reattaching the black how to the drum or you will get a flood if not properly attached.
Hopefuly that will solve your problem.

A common solution for filter cleaning, might help you. You should check your pump too. (another Hotpoint model)

The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. In side is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats in side. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip.
