Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

We put the DVD in and it says loading and then it says open and spits the DVD back out. We have only used the DVD player about 15 times and this is happening with all DVDs even the ones we watched previous.

    Hi JD,

I have a small problem, im wanting to clean the DVD player manually as you instructed. I have been looking everywhere for my manual on how to remove the DVD player from the TV. I have tried just to do it, i remove the screw on the back of the TV which when removed lets me slide the DVD player about 2cm and no more. I dont want to pull on it in case i break something, but it definately doesnt want to slide out anymore, i must be missing a step, maybe another screw somewhere where i cant see? But yeah thats where im at until i find the manual or you know the secret on how to get it further out? Kind Regards Eric

Hi midgeeraker,
If you have a dvd lens cleaner, play it in the player. If not available open the cover of the player then clean the optical lens by soft cotton buds. If the lens has a dust build up, it can't read any disc and will only eject the it.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

there is an interlocking just below or on the side of it, just find this lock and pull it out while pulling the player.

My dvd player just reopens every time i put in a dvd. It wont accept any dics, it used to work fine but has been switched off for about 6 months

A lot of dust builds up in electrical devices in six months. First try using a DVD lens cleaner. If it pops open and you can see the lens, use a tiny amount of alcohol and a cute tip to very gently remove the dust around the lens. My DVD player is an old piece of junk that can read 99% of DVDs because they might have a tiny scratch on them. When it can't read one, it spits it back out.

The DVD player won't work; it spits the the DVD back out

If it is a burnt dvd, it might not play that format. If it isn't, I would take back the tv to where you got it from and get your miney back.

Technical support needed can't get player to eject disc

Huncha,
I had the same problem today.  I got a screwdriver and opened the case from the back.  It was simple, just 3 black screws.  Then I looked in the unit and saw that there were 2 dvds loaded in the unit. Apparently, my daughter didn't realize a dvd was already in the loading tray when she loaded another dvd.  I gently removed the 2 disks by prying the black plastic holder open and sliding the disks out.  Then I put the cover back on and put the screws back in.  Works fine now.  I hope this helps you.  I don't think the unit has a manual eject button, but it sure was easy opening the case and looking in the unit myself.  Good luck.

DVD loader mechanism

It is called the slider assy. The slider moves the laser assy back to home or start position. It is a small belt underneath or there is gunk or hair in the gear mechanism. A very common problem with CD/DVD players/recorders. Very good though that you saw it was not comming back to home place. I wish I had a manual to assist you but I do not. Im telling you the most common problems with the slider mechanism. Good Lck
