Question about Microsoft Zune JS8-00001 Digital Media Player
I would try rebooting the zune first by holding the left arrow button and the top of the center pad button down at the same time for about 5 seconds. Sometimes just letting the zune reset itself can clear up the problem.

If you can see your Zune as an external drive when it's plugged into your friend's computer, there is a possibility that you can recover something with a data-recovery programme such as Recuva (http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/). Save to the hard-disc and check the files for damage. Then try to rewrite to your Zune.
