This is mostly due to defective battery nikons quality services are good but u sometimes end up with a bad model
u can take the cammera to your dealer as it is under warranty so they should replace it
if you use the cammera with flash all the time then too it decreses battery standby
if all else fails try getting a new battery from e bay on the cheap

when having a problem with your digital camera. switch it of, remove the battery and charge the battery. When you replace the battery, the error should be gone. If not, you should contact the service centre closest to you.

Coolpix L26 shows "Battery Exhausted" with new batteries

There is an internal battery like a watch battery. That is the one that is dead.

After replacing the rechargeable batteries numerous times, the camera still flashes low batttery after a short period of time of using. What could be the problem?

If you are using new batteries, then there is a problem on one of the circuit boards that is causing the system to pull too much current and it is exhausting the battery.

Most often, I have seen batteries that go defective in the way they can no longer hold proper charge no matter how much they are recharged. At this point you have to replace the battery with a new one.

The average lifespan of these camera batteries is about 2 to 3 years. If the batteries are stored and not used, they can become weak to hold charge after about 6 months. They go through a chemical degradation over time.

Nikon L100 shows battery exhausted error message after installing new batteries. Unable to perform any operations on camera

That's the bug in Nokin L100, update the firmware version from 1.0 to 1.1, this will solve the battery exhaust problem. Firmware version 1.0 has only 2 battery (Alkaline and Lethium) option where as Firmware version 1.1 has Nickle battery also. But, to update the firmware you need to have EH-67 AC Adapter to give power to the camera.

Nikon Coolpix L18 display shows "battery exhausted" despite several tries at new batteries

Mine too. The camera is not good what so ever. The batterys seem to die in 5mins but the same batterys can go weeks in my guitar hero guitars. We had to buy expensive rechargeables and it still does the same. Just get a new camera

Canon camera won't hold it's charge

Hello!

I think I found the soultion.
So when the camera shows that changing battery is needed take those batteries to a discman or hand lamp or any other tool to exhaust the batteries completely. It's necessary becasue the camera can't do it and some charge can remain in the batteries and recharging them in this state leads the batteries to go wrong. So charge them after a total exhaust!
This worked for me.

Peace!
