I have a JVC Compact VHS video camera, model GR-AX800 and it's beginning to eat my tapes. There's an error code, "E08" appearring in the viewfinder. Can you tell me what that means? Unfortunately, the booklet that came with the camera offers no solution Thanks Alvin

Either a belt has broken internally o is sliping enough to prevent the takeup reel from turning. This unit needs service. This is not a repair I would suggest you attempt unless you have worked on cameras before. The parts cost for this repair should not be more than $10. Check around for a service center that will work on JVC camcorders.

How to operate gr-d70k digital video camera?do i need recording tape even they have a memory card?and how to change the language from japanese to english

You will need a Mini DV tape to record videos. The memory card can only record snapshots. When you rotate the LCD panel away from the body of the camera, you will see some controls. On the left of the second row, there is a switch. Set it to Memory to record to the memory card. Set the switch to Video to record to the tape.

I'm not sure how to change the language. There are no language options for the GR-D70.

The manual for the JVC GR-D70 is available here: http://www.jvc.co.uk/files/instruction_manual/lyt1145-001a.pdf . I believe that the GR-D70K will work the same way.

I hope this helps.

The tape must be broken or rolled inside the camera, try to see if you can open the camera door a bit and force tape out. You will probably lose the tape.

JVC GR-D31 camcorder showing "Condensation" warning - no matter what I do. Suspect faulty dew sensor. What can I do?

There are two options here:

1) Eject the unit so that the tape compartment is open and blow air into the camera using a fan. That should reduce any condensation inside that may exist.

2) If the above does not work, the sensor could be bad or the connections onit could be bad. You will need to remove the door to gain access to the mechanism. You should be able to see the sensor inside. It will appear to be like a small grid on the face of the mechanism. Check the connections on it. If they appear to be OK. Call up JVC and order a replacement dew sensor.

If you don't feel comfortable working on camcorders, please seek out an authorized JVC service center.

Camera is a JVC GR-DF470 Video Camera. Problem is UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE EJECT AND REINSERT TAPE ERROR 03. I have done this and problem still remains.

I have the same model of camera and the same problem has occurred after two years of use. I am not sure why it happens but checking on other web sites, it may have to do with tape tension and the brand of tape. Up to now, I was using Sony and JVC tapes which worked fine but a recent purchase of TDK tapes seems to have caused this problem.

My fix was to take the tape out and then manually wind the tape a couple of turns by inserting one flat blade screwdriver in the tape lock tab (bottom middle of tape case) and using another to wind the tape. This appeared to fix the tape tension and after loading it back in, the tape and the camera worked fine.

Hope this helps.
