Hi.

Yes, you can use the monitor leads from other monitors, just make sure that the pins are the same.

Some monitors have a 9 pin connector, and others have a 15 pin connection.

The jacks will look the same, but the 9 pin version will have the other pin holes filled in.

As a rule though, most modern monitor cables should work for you.

I hope this helps, and good luck.

My monitor comes on for a sec blue light then nothing. thought it was my computer took it to shop fix it told nothingwrong with comuter. So it must be the monitor.

could be monitor or lead. could also be the resolution of the graphics card. If the system was previously working with this monitor it won't be resolution and if a new lead doesn't work then it has to be a faulty monitor. play around with connections until you are sure as leads are cheap. you've had the pc checked on another monitor now try the monitor on another Pc if you can.

Speakers doesn't work

Hello,
Firstly I would try increasing the monitor's volume control (found on the right hand side of the monitor).
If that does not help, check your computer's volume control is not muted.

For me however, the number one cause of no sound is the green audio lead which normally plugs into the rear of the monitor coming loose. This lead can be found just by the video lead. Could you check that that is plugged in firmly and if it is, check the lead on the PC side of things. Check that the green lead is plugged into the (usually) green headphone or speaker output jack on your computer. If this does not help, then try to borrow another lead of the same type (ask for a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead) and try that. If none of this has helped then your monitor may be defective.

Monitor colors are not displaying correctly

Hi, At the worst it is a blown monitor, but have hope. 1st try a new or known good lead, between monitor and PC. 2nd put monitor with own lead on good PC. if 1st works = result. if 2nd and monitor is same, suspect monitor, however, if 2nd works ok on other PC, then look at ur vid card. Either way, this test sequence should save you some $. Be lucky.

Don't know how to turn it on

Check power lead, press the button on the right at the bottom of the screen if a light comes on then it is on. Start PC, light should go green and monitor should give a display. If there is no life at all then the monitor is dead, change it :( If the light is on but starting PC doesn't give a display then check lead from PC, try another monitor with PC and if it works change resolution to something basic like 1026 x 768 @ 60Hz then try the acer again. If another monitor doesn't work your PC has a graphics problem; Check the lead thoroughly, check in bios settings the display is set right, try a new graphics card

Built in speakers

Ya, you have to connect an Audio Lead from the Monitor to the Computer. The audio lead would had been shipped along with your Monitor.

You have to connect the "One End of your Audio Lead in the Audio Out socket of your PC and the Other End in your Monitor's Audio In socket". Thats it.

Got samsung le37a456c us as monitor

This samsung as pc monitor has an easy solution. after trying everything on many different sites:- rebooting, locating tv in settings, all the different sequences of conecting and turning pc and tv on, resolution settings. all this was a complete waste of time. SOLUTION:- i read all these people with the same problem and many had tried laptops and pc's on same tv yet always using same vga lead. so i decided i'd look at problem not in pc or tv but the lead, i borrowed a vga lead from I.T. department and as soon as i plugged this lead into my samgsung tv my pc option was active and i'd not even connected pc at that point. so i know its a total lead oriented problem.
