Question about Sony Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have SONY BRAVIA KLV-32BX300 TV and I had a problem connecting it with my pc, I tried the VGA cable and the pc with another monitor and it worked fine, so I tried doing a firmware upgrade and followed the instructions posted in sony.com to download and install the firmware version 1.148 (if I can remember), but it never turned on again, and the only thing that I can see are the three front leds (standby, power and timer) blinking together once per second, please help! I've searched online and I can't find the problem and Im desperate!! please help!!

Try to connect with HDMI cable, not the VGA cable.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

This is indicative of a bad flash; I would recommend formatting your USB stick (FAT32), redownload the pkg update (available here: http://esupport.sony.com/LA/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=KLV32BX300&upd_id=6232&os_id=25 ), and performing a firmware upgrade again.

  1. Turn the TV on.
  2. Insert the USB storage device into the USB port on the back of the TV.
Note: The USB storage device can only be inserted into the USB port slot one way.
  3. Turn your TV off by pressing the power button on the TV
  4. Press the POWER button again. The POWER indicator will be green for 30 seconds, followed by the PIC OFF/TIMER indicator slowly flashing amber, and the STANDBY indicator is red.
  5. After several minutes, the TV will turn off and then turn back on to complete the update.
  6. Remove the USB device from the TV.
