Yes most likely need a new switch. The switch should be screwed in from under the bottom of the switch which means you will need to have a way to access it.

Pump won't shut-ff

Hi Ron...
Check your float switch....sometimes they can get stuck to cause this problem of not shutting down after draining the orginal water.
Take the float switch and move it up and down...this may help to clear the stuck switch inside of the float

Pool filter pump won't shut off.

I'm assuming it continues to run when you switch the system to "service" mode. You probably have a relay stuck shut. Unless you are very comfortable with working with high voltage it's best to get a tech out to verify the problem and switch out the relay. If you are okay with it the replacement isn't very difficult. You'll have 4 or 6 wires to move from the old relay to the new one, and switch out the small black and red paired wires that go from the relay to the control board. Make certain that your breaker is off while changing it out.

Maytag maxima door locked

Similar problem here - pump was set for a 58 minute normal cycle, I look in and see it is now showing 67. Hmm. Attempt to shut it off because it is just sitting there pumping and pumping. Power shuts off but pump keeps running and add garment light flashing red. Cannot open door (to add garment or not) Unplug the unit and the door will not open. Anybody got a clue what's up? I have a wash in, service is closed due to a storm today. Just bugs me that it is 6 months old and seems to act up a fair bit electronically.

Think the oil pressure switch keeps the fuel pump running once started. Suggest replacing Oil pressure switch. And no it won't effect oil pressure reading when it goes bad. The switch is a safety device. When you roll it over and the oil pressure drops the switch cuts off the fuel pump. Neat huh? Need some good feedback Thanks!

To replace the switch, shut off power, remove wires noting all wire locations.
You may have to relieve pressure in the system by using water until the surge tank is empty.
I'm not sure about that.
You do have to either remove the switch from the piping by unscrewing it or remove the piping from the switch by removing the connector and unscrewing the connector from the switch.
Assembly is the reverse. You should use teflon tape of dope on the screw connection below the switch.
The procedure should take about a half hour but you won't have any water during this time.

Alot of rain flooded the area arond the pump twice which shut off power.now motor is quit noisy?Whaddyathink??

the water has damaged the bearings, it's only a matter of time before the bearings get louder or seize all together. You can have the bearings replaced or get a new motor installed. A bearing replacement is 2/3 the cost of a new motor and the rest of the components are still old and perhaps damaged from the flood. Your call, I'd go for a new motor.
