Do you have the right version for your computer? for the operating system. I haven't checked but it probably requires xp or newer to run.

Double check to make sure it was the right number you put in. The numbers in the box on a stick or a page.

Check your windows updates first and get those up to date. It might have to reinstall ms netframe etc.

Did you delete it or uninstall it? In the box is an 800 number for microsoft. You will need to call them and tell them the number is expired, that you tried installing too many times etc and they will give you a new one that works.

You need microsoft net frame work to work in the newer windows versions. You may need to reinstall it. Again check to see what windows updates you need and get them.

Before removing something from the system you should use google and check what it is you're deleting first to make sure it's not something necessary. Too often people accidentally remove critical parts of windows and then get errors.

If you are out of space on the hard drive first thing to look at doing is getting rid of temp files. Go under Internet Explorer, TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS and delete those files. Also go under SETTINGS and see how much space it is using to save temp files. The lower the number the more space you'll conserve on the harddrive, but the less pages it will save as well. If you don't go to the same page often then you won't need much space reserved.

You may still need to call the MS number and get a new registration number from them for Office.

Firstly don't delete those Microsoft dot net frameworks, they are vital updates needed by your system. If you want to free up a little space I suggest you run a Disk Cleanup.

Disk cleanup
The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up disk space by searching your disk for unwanted files and temporary files that you can safely delete without problems. It can remove all of the following:

Files in the Recycle Bin.
Temporary Internet files.
Temporary Windows files located in the Temporary files folder.
Optional Windows components that you are not using.
Installed programs that you no longer use or wish to use.

To launch the Disk Cleanup tool via Start menu go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools

I have bought microsoft office - slasher_x_22.gif

A dialogue window should now appear enabling you to select the drive you want to clean up. Select the required drive and click OK.

The specified drive will be examined and the amount of space you can potentially free up is calculated and displayed.

The results, showing the amount of space that can be recovered by deleting files a secific type of file that is not needed is then displayed on the Disk Cleanup I have bought microsoft office - slasher_x_25.gifow.

Select the files and click Ok to remove these un-needed files.

Now that a Disk Cleanup has been performed your hard drive should perform slightly faster and have less clutter lying around.

I suggest you perform the disk cleanup tool every once in a while to ensure that your hard drive has a greater lifespan, never has any need to crash or come up with errors caused by unnecessary files, greater performance and increased productivity especially where it is needed most, in the workplace.

From what you have said the Microsoft Outlook 2010 software is telling you that your registration key has expired. All you have to do is contact Microsoft's support center and provide them with proof of purchase. They should then supply you with a new key.

To contact them go here.
Type in Outlook 2010 into the Quick product finder box.
Then select Outlook 2010 from the drop down list.
Then follow the questions.

I took my PC in for repairs and it came back with a new microsoft windows office student 2007 which is expired and I cannot use my PC. I have my own Windows XP Professional but will not load as it comes up...

Windows and Office are 2 separate products. Reinstalling Windows XP Professional will not get you Office. If you went out and bought Office Home and Student 2007, you should have the box still that has your key on the cardboard insert. Otherwise, you probably had the trial. You can reinstall the trial if you like for another 30-90 days, but I would recommend you go to a big box store (best buy, staples, etc) and buy Office Home and Student 2010 for about $125. That gets you Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. If you need Outlook for email, you need to get the Home and Business 2010 edition for a little bit more.

Outlook will not activate

It is because MS outlook is not a part of the ms office home and student 2007 package. That's the reason why your outlook is saying trial and its not working.

Hi Steven,

This fact is annoying but the home and student version of microsoft office does not have outlook installed with it.

you will either have to download the trial pack or buy a different version of the software (standard or professional ).

After downloading a trail we have problems with outlook express

The version you first downloaded was a trial version. After 60 days, it stops working. Also during the 60 day trial, the program keeps asking you for the product key because they want you to purchase that version. If you do, you will only need to purchase a product to put in and away you go. The program is already installed from the 60sday trial.

The Standard version comes with Outlook, not Outlook express. The Student & Home version does not come with outlook. You can download outlook express 6.0 at this link: and install for free.
