Question about Samsung Cell Phones
First off, try turning it off and turning it back on again. Sounds dumb, but this simply solution often times solves the problem.
In this case, if it does not, chances are the phone is damaged or defective. If a large portion of the screen is dark, this most likely means that there is something seriously wrong. If it is under warranty from the carrier (Verizon, O2, TMobile), take it into one of their stores, and ask the service counter. If it is under warranty from samsung, you can request service from them. There is usually a fee for shipping and service (about $50). There are not many options for a half powered screen, I am sorry to say. In any case, by taking the phone to the carrier stores service counter you will at least be able to diagnose the problem specifically.
